Every December feels like long awaited break after a long journey, but this year 2025 carries a special weight. We measure a year not only by the calendar but by the battles we fought, the growth we earned, and the small mercies that kept us moving. This final month forces us to pause, reflect and appreciate the story of our lives.
For me as a student, 2025 started with the usual fire of January resolutions. I told myself that “This year, I will do better academically, spiritually, financially, socially, emotionally and materially". Looking back now, I may laugh at how boldly I started, but I must also acknowledge how far we have come.

One major thing that happened for me this year is that I finally bagged my degree in Accounting, I graduated this year and I'm so grateful to God who has brought me this far, special thanks to my family and friends too when the journey easier for me. I can tell you for free that the journey wasn't a easy one for me. There were good days, bad days, days I wanted to give up and even days I cried because I was overwhelmed but glory to Jesus, I was able to scale through everything and here I am as a graduate.

Another remarkable achievement of the year is personal growth and skills development. This year I started my data analytics journey, I want to be a problem solver and a solution provider in the financial market and you know the saying that goes thus that "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step". So I started my data journey by enrolling in Softrays Institute to learn data analytics from the scratch. I started with the basis to advance level of Excel, moved to Power BI and I'm currently on SQL.

This journey has taught me that if you don't take responsibility to improve on yourself, nobody will do it for you, what you know is what you know. Even though I'm still improving on my skill, I'm so grateful that I started the journey and but here am I still growing and breaking grounds.
Financially, Nigeria has never been an easy place to navigate between rising prices, unpredictable politics and the constant hustle to stay afloat, every month came with its own test. It was even worse when I was still a student when I had to manage the monthly stipend which never reached two weeks before it finishes, but at the long run I survived. This alone is worth celebrating.

Socially, friendships were also reshaped in 2025. Some relationships were strengthened beautifully, I found people who genuinely cared and stood by me even during difficult times. Even though some friendships faded because of long distances but even that was still a blessing, because not every person is meant to follow us into the next chapter. This year revealed the true definition of loyalty, support, and community.
Emotionally, there were also personal victories I often overlook. This year my mental health was going off and on during my project, final exams and all. I learnt to check on myself and not just others, I learnt that it is okay to rest, cry or take a quiet break from the world. This awareness is an achievement because strength is not only measured by how much we carry but also by how wisely we lighten the load.

Spiritually, 2025 brought me spiritual renewal. I reconnected with God, joined new unit in church, read my Bible more consistently. This year was filled with uncertainties, faith became both my anchor and compass. It reminds me that my story is still unfolding and that God's mercies writes the most beautiful stories.
As December comes to an end, my heart is full of gratitude for the blessings I received and humility for the lessons I learnt. I also looking forward to have greater experiences and achievements in the year 2026.
How wonderful your stories are!
Thank you so much
I'm glad you stopped by
Being a student and graduating in a country such as Nigeria is never an easy feat. I'm glad you even went ahead to learn more skill after you graduated, this is a common mistake among students in Nigeria believing whatever skill they learnt in school is enough to make them prevail in the labour market.
Congratulations on your endeavours, wish you best of luck.
Thank you so much
