Humanity

I just finished reading a Facebook post where a man wrote about how he had a girlfriend but got married to another woman without telling his girlfriend and when she found out, he refused answering her calls. She eventually got over him and found love again and got married a year later only for him to see her call on his phone many years later. He didn't want to reestablish any form of connections with her, so he ignored the call and now about a week later, a mutual friend who knew the both of them when they were together called to tell him that his ex girlfriend was now late. She had requested for his number to talk to him when she was on her sick bed at the hospital and he had ignored the calls.

The story made me feel so sad and bitter and for some weird reasons, it just made me remember days when I will go to my friends and tell them that life shouldn't be this hard if humanity chooses to be kind to one another. The day we understand that kindness is all we need, that is the day we would open our inner eyes to see how great this world can be if only everyone in it was kind.

There are days when I've thought about how happy I would be if I had people around me who were genuinely kind to one another. People who would go the extra mile for you just to make sure that you get what you want.

I saw a tiktok video yesterday where a guy walked up to the waiter and whispered in his ears that the money he had with him wouldn't be enough to clear the bill for him and his girlfriend and the waiter had immediately asked him not to worry and gave him a discount. The waiter had no idea he was being videoed and what the man did next brought tears to my eyes.

He handed a bunch of money to the waiter telling him he deserves it because he's a kind man. I remember crying more because of the reaction from the waiter, it was so beautiful to see. He rejected the money at first and even offered to take just a little bit of it when the man persisted but he eventually took all of it.

We need more people like that, both the waiter and the man who gave him money, because their kind are rare.

Wow! I felt so sad about the lady that died. One thing about humans is how they tend to disconnect from lost relationship or communication. Life doesn't end there. Ending a relationship doesn't mean we should go our separate ways. We can still be kind to still talk once in a while and not forget anybody like that. Life is all about showing kindness in your own way because we don't know what may happen next.

Kindness goes a long way in soothing one self mo matter how hard life treat one.
Kind in words and actions.
But kindness is a scarce commodity....... they show kindness in exchange for something (nothing goes for nothing)
