Five Years On Hive

Five years ago, if anyone had told me that I'd be this committed to anything, I probably would have thought they were lying because five years ago, I was picking up random projects and dropping them as quickly as I picked them up and this was because I was such a young lad back then whose mind was everywhere.

When I first got on hive, I remember the first few weeks here not being friendly at all. The whole place felt like a different world of its own and I felt like a tiny little stranger who had no one to show him around or walk him through the ropes. So I started my trials and errors and trust me when I say it wasn't a nice experience (though now it does make a good story). Then as I wondered deep into the land of Hive, I started to discover other Nigerians who were also struggling, trying to make a way for themselves here and all of a sudden I no longer felt alone.

It didn't take long before I started to make friends with people from different countries all over the world but all of that didn't happen until I almost quit Hive. I had decided to take a break because it got to a point where it just felt like nothing wasn't working anymore and I needed to go do something else.

But luckily for me, I came back and decided to put in times two of the work I was putting in the past and trust me when I say that looking back at all of it now, I do not regret that decision at all.

I got a notification from HiveBuzz last night that it's been five wonderful years of me being on Hive and I was a bit surprised because I didn't know it's been that long. Anyways, happy Hive Anniversary to me and I hope to celebrate many more anniversaries in years to come.
