EDUCATION IS THE KEY TO KNOWLEDGE

It's quite unfortunate how people see education now, most people no longer value the importance of education infact you will even hear them say that education is a scam. There's even this slogan people say about those who decides to go to school, you will hear them saying "na mumu dey go school". They have lost their interest in school, it could be that they have tried severally to get admitted in school but has been denied their chances of getting admission or probably they see several graduates on the street without job or probably begging from hand to mouth that's why they refer to education as scam

Aside those who undergoes such things, you can even see a graduate also saying that education is a scam. I could remember passing some groups of people in campus and I overheard them saying that if you depend solely on your certificate to survive in Nigeria, you're just digging your grave. Meaning as a student you need to have another side hustle apart from depending on your certificate after school because your certificate might fail you but what you learn with your hands which is handwork will definitely help you after graduation. I agree that as a student you should have a side hustle but it doesn't mean you have to refer to school as a scam, Most graduates are doing wonderfully well with their certificate, you shouldn't give up on yourself and your dreams.

People with their different points of view about education and how insignificant education is in the society. To me, education is not a scam and can never be a scam. Let me take some examples explaining to you all why I feel education is not a scam.

First let me ask this question, when you're very sick that your body can no longer respond, where do you go to? I'm sure you all know that the first place you will run to is the hospital but have you forgotten that the Doctors that will attend to you actually went to school which you claim it's a scam. If education is a scam and probably they refused to go to school, you won't see doctors that will be able to treat a patient.

It's true that most of the things we're taught in school are not being practiced after education but to some extent, they help us and it's still a vital part in growing up and it's something we need to know. You can't just jump to the end product of something without knowing the basis of that particular thing. You might not using the basis after school but the end product do matter too.

It's just like them imposing some unnecessary course to a medical students that they don't really need but at the end of the program, they will realize at some point in their life that something like this was taught and it's high time they apply it.

I remember when it was imposed on us that we must offer French as a course, even when the whole students were against it, we still studied the course. Imagine!! what does a microbiologist have to do with French language?😂 This is the question I keep on asking myself. It might not be useful to us now, but I'm sure sooner or later we would make use of the knowledge given to us. We paid for it so we should receive the knowledge without complaining.

You can even see someone that graduated as a medical doctor working in a bank or anywhere not related to his field, this is because Nigeria is a country where you see many graduates jobless on the street that's why they decide to do any available work and at the end, they refer to education as a scam. Education is just a vital part in growing up.
