Finding Clarity and Refueling My Passion: A Story of Encouragement

in Hive Learners2 years ago

Every day, I get different words of advice on vast topics. Many of them are relevant, and I keep them in mind. If I could pick one as a favorite, well, it would be quite the challenge, as there are many that I hold dear to my heart. Therefore, I will be sharing one that has spurred me into becoming more myself.

Over the years, I have found myself taking an interest in different things, and they may not all be related. I consider myself a curious person. When I get excited about something, I try to dive in as quickly as I can. This has allowed me to delve into many things, learn them, and get deeply involved quite quickly.

An example would be how I picked up music. I was asked to give an instrument a try and see if I would like to do music. I gave the guitar a try, and not long afterwards, I became deeply passionate about it. And in no time, I was exploring on my own and learning faster.

And now, looking back, I see that I have gotten very involved in certain aspects and love them all very much. Music, photography, writing, and automation engineering are things that I have taken a lot of interest in. This isn't me trying to be vain, I promise. The issue, really, is knowing which to stick with long-term and make a solid career out of.

Some day, however, when I was in a conversation with a dear friend of mine, I got inspired by her gracious words of advice to keep doing me. She said to me that I should just "keep doing the things I enjoy doing, keep improving, and some thing will click one day." She buttressed her point by giving examples of some successful people who had tried many things in life until something finally "clicked."

Dropping any of the things I love to do simply because I just want to focus on one thing didn't seem like something I would be happy with, although the main thing would understandably have to take dominance at some point. Her words have given me fuel to fire up.

She even went further to help me see how relevant some of the things in which I have an interest are to each other. For example, something I do every day is write. And when I do write, I would need to make a thumbnail that would pop—make a lot of sense, basically. Since I take time to learn and explore different ideas on Canva, I can achieve that goal of having a fitting thumbnail. The use of photography—another thing I am enthusiastic about—comes in handy some times, especially when I would like to use original photos.

What I do now—although it has been a little shaky—is that I try to keep learning and improving myself in the things I am interested in as much as I can. They excite me after all.

I just graduated from the university, and figuring out the way forward hasn't been the easiest thing so far. So what I do now is stick to the things I can develop and hope something clicks for me. Until then, I will keep doing me.

If my friend hadn't showered me with her kind words of advice, I may have as well been worried a lot more and let things go without realizing potentials, and that would have been a decision I may not be entirely happy with.

Over the years, I have found myself taking an interest in different things, and they may not all be related.

I am in the same situation as you are, while writing blogs I fell in love in doing poetry then spoke word pieces. After giving some time, I ventured into video editing and now podcasting somehow they are related to each other but oh boy! Each one of them takes some time for me to learn.

What I do now—although it has been a little shaky—is that I try to keep learning and improving myself in the things I am interested in as much as I can. They excite me after all.

YES to this! Find something that can bring us joy whatever it is what we are passionate about can lead us to more opportunities for growth.

Haha...I guess we're very much alike in this regard. We are trying to figure out what would work for us, yet we are driven by our curiosity to explore other options.

I guess we should just keep forging ahead and keep getting better.

Thank you for your contributions, man.

Every statement in this post is very relatable to me. I read something earlier today about your twenties being the season when you're most pressured in your life. The external pressure is just enough, the internal is just another story, it could go on for long if we don't learn to deal with it.

I'm sure your friend didn't know how huge the impact of those words were and she was right. I read in a book recently that we should stop looking to have it all figured out. Some of us might not have that feeling until later later in our lives. But, keeping on and scaling each milestone as it comes is what we should give priority and the bigger picture would surely give us the desired outcome.

Aesome write-up and you have great pictures as well! ❤

If there could be no time at all to feel pressured in this life, it would be great. Yet, it's these uncertainties that make life exciting. So, yeah, we have to deal with them—the sooner the better.

My friend has no idea how much of an impact her words were for me.

I think "trying to figure it all" is probably the root of all the confusion. Keeping steadfast, pushing forward, and not worrying may very well be a better approach.

Thank you for your kind words, Sekan. I've missed you, you know.

We can actually do great things we never thought of, but we need that encouragement and inspiration to make them happen. When we keep doing things passionately, someday, one of them will click, which is why we must keep learning. Your friend gave you that fantastic word of encouragement and here you are while still pushing forward and doing you.

Oh, yes. We do need motivation to keep our dreams alive.

I hope something clicks soon enough, but until then I'll just keep doing what I can every time to get better.

I'm glad my friend and I had that conversation.

Thank you for contributing, Princess.

I could relate with a lot of what you wrote in this article. "keep doing the things I enjoy doing, keep improving, and some thing will click one day.". These words have been a personal mantra of mine since the start of the year. This is hands down one of the best post I've read in my short time in this community, thanks for blessing us with this write up
