Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. Over the years one thing I have come to realize is that in life if you really want to grow and experience progress, you must be willing to take risks. Some people don't want to take risks for fear of them failing, but that is exactly why it is called a risk; it is a risk because it can work out and it can fail. If you are a hundred percent sure it will work, then it is not a risk, but in the case you are between walls, not knowing which side you will fall into, the pressure, and the fear of knowing that if it fails to work out you will have little or nothing to fall back to, that is when you know what taking a risk feels like.

The year 2025 was a rollercoaster ride. I experienced both good and bad times, times where I could choose if I wanted to take a risk or not, and whether they paid off or not, I wouldn't feel so bad, maybe because there was something else to fall back on, and there were times when I had no other choice than to take a risk and hope it paid off because if it didn't, I was finished. They were risks I took, and they paid off, and I was very happy, and then there were those that came crashing down on me, leaving me with a heavy heart and finding a way to survive. One thing about taking risks is that the previous one not working out like you expected does not stop you from taking another risk, maybe a bigger one than the one that failed.
In 2025, like I said before, it was a rollercoaster ride indeed. I took lots and lots of risks; some yielded huge returns, some small returns, and some just took my hard-earned money, investment, or time and vanished. Not every risk taken in the year 2025 went as planned, but they were all worth a try, which is exactly what prompted me into taking them. If they had worked out, it would have been of great benefit to me, but them not working out still found a way to teach me a lesson and how to position myself and take even more risks, so whether a risk plays out well or flops, there will be either a lesson or a blessing.

The biggest risk I took in 2025 was learning a skill while still in school. Many people work while in school, and I decided to give learning a skill while in school a try, and I almost lost my sanity. Sometimes I am forced to choose between going to class and reporting to work. Since I wanted to learn AbSKILL so badly, sometimes I chose reporting to the workplace, and I ended up missing classes. And then that period it was as if my lecturers had it all planned out; they made impromptu tests an everyday thing, and I kept missing out with no makeup test. My grades took a fatal blow, but I was able to learn a skill. I felt bad for my grades but was grateful for the skill I had learned.
It's good to know when to stop and when to continue. There is this phrase: "Never put all your eggs in one basket." But as you said, if you study and pay attention than the risk is reduced and the phrase changes to: "Have less baskets and take care of the eggs."

One major life ingredient is risk taking.
Thanks for stopping by.
A skill learned will always be useful till eternity. I now prefer knowledge over anything else. Indeed no knowledge is a waste. Thanks for sharing
Knowledge they say is power, with it you can do a lot.
Something we just need to let our fears go so that we can take more risk and achieve more in life.
I believe that without some of those risk that yielded well for you, you won't be where you are today.
Thanks for sharing and happy new year
I don't even know how to reply to the risk you took, but it was good that you made the right choice towards learning the skills because you might not have that opportunity to learn it again
2026 will be better for us.
