Our Leaders Don't Care About Us.

I welcome you to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. It is disappointing to see that those meant to defend and protect us are now the ones hunting us; it becomes impossible to escape or run away when those supposed to stand up for you, those supposed to defend you, are now your oppressors. When someone else tries to oppress you, you run to those who are meant to defend you, but now that those who are supposed to defend and fight for you are now your oppressors, where do you run to? Who do you run to?

When those who are supposed to defend you become your oppressors, it makes life even more difficult, as you have nowhere and no one to run to. When those who are supposed to defend and protect you do their jobs perfectly, you will always have a safe haven to run to when oppressors come, but when those who are supposed to defend and protect you become your oppressors, that safe haven that once existed will cease to exist.

When a particular atrocity happens for the first time, we can say that the government is free from the accusations that they are behind it, but when the same atrocity happens over and over again and, despite the people calling for help, the government does nothing about it, that makes it all obvious that they are behind it and support it. There are also cases where they go to the media and make it look like they frown at the act but do nothing about it; they just talk about it in the media, but no action is taken to arrest or curb the situation. Just talking to the media with no action is also proof that those meant to protect us are behind the atrocities.

Lately there are so many atrocities that scream our leaders being behind it; I cannot even count, but one that has been made obvious that our leaders and even the government are behind it is the issue of having bandits commit so many atrocities ranging from kidnapping and abducting citizens to opening fire on citizens in places of worship. It started small, and now bandits are on a rampage; they even have social media accounts where they come live and make videos telling both citizens and our leaders that we have no say. That level of confidence does not come from nothing; it can only come from having a kind of backing words cannot describe.

Even how our leaders talk about it in the media shows how much they support every atrocious act committed by these bandits, people who are supposed to be purged out of the country and the face of the earth, and a leader comes to talk about giving them amnesty or saying we should negotiate with them instead of fighting with them or against what they do. Ever since these bandits went on a rampage, all our leaders have done is talk on the media about it, but no real action has been taken. Imagine people travelling home for the Christmas season having to take a longer route because bandits took control of the shorter route and the government to date has done nothing about that. Many citizens decided not to travel because of how unsafe our roads feel.

All of this says a lot about our leaders; they have lost their touch and are dragging us down with them. A leader talking about amnesty for the same people that have inflicted pain on the people makes no sense to me; we need power to change hands, let those who are more capable take charge.
