MY WORK, MY PRIDE

Work is a crucial part of successful living within the community as it not only aid in providing the basic neccessities of life, it also aid in building a social image in the community, this is why government workers tend to have higher shoulders in the community when compared to the average worker that works for a private firm. Its like, the bigger the association you work with, the better people see you in the society.

Growing up as kids, we all admire our parents, how dad carries his bag to work every morning and how mum drops us off in school while she go about her business for the day. We all want to be like dad, work and provide for the family, little do we know the amount of stress dad is going through in other to balance his work and home life.

Sometimes, even when you land yourself in a good paying job, it proves to be the most boring job ever, irrespective of the fact that you are moving your body and not staying at a place. Some people have a very boring work routine, and life - wake up, do your early morning business in the bathroom, dress up, visit the kitchen and off you go to work. In work, they do nothing but repeat the same thing that they have been doing from the first day they joined the organization.

I once faced something similar. This was when i went for my first experience at ACIU Ebuena Abiriba hospital and maternity. Back then, i was a newbie in the line of medicine, and i did not know a lot, so, i was posted to a unit where i checked vital signs. Not all vital signs, just blood pressure and and temperature.

Innitially, i was really happy, but as time goes on, the same circle kept repeating itself and i instantly got bored out of my mind. The patients became annoying, and all i could think of was to leave the seat and go home. There was no flexibility as i could not leave my post, as there was no one to fill it. After about one or two weeks of doing vitals, inarguably, i became a pro even though i was new, but then, i complained to my school to remove me from the hospital.

In my work today, there is quite a lot of flexibility as i have shifted from the stage of being a newbie and i have entered the stage of working without the supervision of a senior nurse or midwife, instead, i am now the one that is supervising students that are posted to the hospital where i work.

The routine is, welp, not the same as every day, but i change from one post to another, depending on who is in the same shift as me, however, most times, i focus more on administering medication, and dressing of wounds if any.

I actually have freedom to decide the unit where i will love to work for the day, and i love it. I love how things are in my work and i love the patients i always get. Though they can be annoying, i am still happy and glad to aid them through their process of recovery.

It is true that if you do the same thing everyday, you will get bored.
There is a lot of responsibility in working in a hospital and I am glad to hear that there is flexibility in your work and that you are happy with your work.
