Life’s Dilemmas

It took me time to really ponder on this prompt topic and come up with something to say. Doing something terrible to give a positive result sounds like a tough question to answer. The word terrible is already giving me a negative vibe, and I am just imagining accepting to do terrible things of sacrificing a few humans to save millions?

Every life is precious, and I really hope that throughout my existence in this world, I wouldn't have to face this tough decision, even if it involves my family and other of my loved ones. The thing is that there are some of our actions, no matter the circumstances, that are morally bad regardless of their outcomes. You wouldn't want to do something that will hurt your fellow humans and leave you emotionally shattered and without peace in your heart. Thinking about the end result of my actions, even if it brings a good result, the scars of which my terrible action will create in my heart will be undeleteable, and it's a concern to my personality.

Sometimes, we are faced with situations that put us in an indecision state, but I feel that before making a choice in this case, we can think through the impact of our choices. What could be the possible repercussions even if you have a good intention of your actions? That's an important question to look into. This kind of situation also leaves me questioning my personality and my stand as a Christian.

So to answer the prompt question clearly, I wouldn't do anything terrible to save millions of people by sacrificing a few, even if it meant that the survivors would get a better life. Everyone should keep living in pain and suffering rather than such unjustified action, if you ask me. For decades, we have been suffering in this world, toiling to make ends meet, and somehow, we are still surviving. If our creator was able to sacrifice his life in order to give us a good life and yet we are still suffering, what more sacrifice can I do to better the millions of people to the detriment of few lives? No, I don't have such emotional capacity to bear the guilt of knowing that I did something terrible. I am not saying that I am a human full of perfection, but at least I wouldn't be doing something terrible intentionally for the sake of humanity. If it involves not tampering with any soul but only mine, maybe I can become the second Jesus, but the fact that my actions will affect a few lives is already a no-no for me.

Come to think of it, there's no guarantee that even the survivors I will save will live a better life forever because life itself is filled with ups and downs. Have you asked yourself why we humans have been suffering? It's never the plan of our creator for his own people to suffer, but in many ways, we bring suffering and pain to our lives due to our actions. I feel the best we can do to help ourselves is try to live responsibly on this earth, including showing love and concern for one another, and everything else will fall into place.

Personally, I feel it's not justifiable to do something terrible just to save lives.
