Baby Steps- Watching My Baby Brother Grow

in Hive Learners2 years ago

As they say, big sisters are the second mothers. Who would have thought that there was a time I didn’t like kids. The thought of a baby vomiting and crying always gave me the ick.
Well, I guess people actually do change.

On today’s edition of the hive learners weekly contest, we are to talk about the first time a baby close to us took their first steps. I’ve read quite some lovely experiences here and I am very delighted to share my experience with you all.

If you need a baby sitter just give me a call because I’m the babysitter in my family and I do what I do to my maximum capability. Lol.

Babies are a blessing to all of the world and not just the family they are born into. Have you seen a joy on the faces of others when they see a baby smile at them? Yeah that’s real joy.

So as I was saying, there was a time I didn’t like kids but my days of not wanting babies around me came to an end a long time ago.

For me, I think the reason why I didn’t want babies around me was mostly because I didn’t know how to handle them and I didn’t want to put them in a bad state because even though they are sweet, they are very fragile and need to be treated with maximum attention and care.

I deem it a blessing in my life to be able to raise babies who are not mine and to show them the love and care they need.
I always smile when I think of those days I had to take care of my baby brother. He’s still a baby tho, lol.

Our parents are quite busy people so when I’m home on vacations, I make it my responsibility to cater for my baby brother because he has come to grow really fond of me and can’t go a day without me.
I wasn’t around when he was born but we have grown to have a very tight bond.
Everyday we spend together, I experience changes in him. From when he made attempts to crawl or talk or even walk.

I used to say to myself then, if only he knew how stressful it is to be an adult he won’t be making attempts to walk.😂
I guess if we all knew this we would still be babies till today. That’s the beauty of life.

The first time he tried to crawl,it was a disaster but with time he was able to crawl around freely.
For his steps, I think he was in so much hurry to walk because he is very stubborn. I think crawling wasn’t doing the job so man had to find another option.

I was in the kitchen with my mom one morning when the little man started making attempts to stand and walk. It was such an experience because he kept on falling and with all that he didn’t give up. It was so emotional we didn’t know what to do.
With time, I started holding his hands to help he get a steady composure to walk.

I feel happy anytime I look at him running around. It brings back merories of the past.

I hope you enjoyed reading this. Thank you.

you are right, older sisters are often called second mothers, because every mother has another job, of course we will always see the progress of our younger sibling, and we are also happy to be able to look after her until she grows up,

Of course when you see your little brother starting to crawl and learning to walk, you and your mother are so happy and encourage him to keep on going
