People who go into sports are made to go through the pros and cons of the sports before they venture into it. No athlete will be deficient of the risk involve in the game they want to take part in.
Only that there could be more introduction of new rules to guard against injury or infringement.

I agree with you, more awareness is needed in sports to improve in this aspect, I don't think that as a society we will achieve it, at least not yet, there is still a long way to go in my opinion, but I hope we are on the right track.
