New times, new teaching methods [EN/PT]

The education that schools provide in a person's life is of great importance. There is no better means of personal development than through study and education. Its role is crucial, after all, it is through this process that the professionals of the future are formed. But are the teaching methods used today the most appropriate, considering the accessibility of technology and easy access to knowledge?

I believe it's necessary to learn, even when the content is easily available on the internet. I don't know if there is a more efficient way of retaining certain knowledge than through writing. In fact, I know that writing only enhances our learning, especially when combined with a teacher's oratory. Of course, we need to expand our way of seeing the world and try to adapt to this new scenario in which we live, but perhaps the traditional method is still a good way of teaching, but to a certain extent, we can't take it as the best way to go without thinking about other possibilities.

In any case, I believe that some subjects should be more present in students' lives. For example, throughout my school years I was never taught accounting, financial knowledge or first aid, subjects that I consider to be just as important as math or grammar. This is a point that schools could exploit by offering more practical knowledge for adult life, and perhaps the change should start here.

Many people agree that working smart generates more results than just working hard, and I agree with that. If we have good technological tools to help us, why not use them to our advantage to enhance teaching? There is content that used to be taught and memorized, but which is no longer necessary today. We have means that open doors to access knowledge without the need to memorize it. For example, why should a student memorize certain formulas if they can easily access them on the internet? Providing this kind of access is being more efficient, saving time and allowing students to focus on learning things that really matter.

Although I have a more liberal view on certain parts of this subject, I believe that the teaching method should be adjusted. What should really be taught is for the student to seek solutions, learn dynamics and stimulate their creativity and learning capacity. As I mentioned before, a student could easily find a specific formula on the internet. What they should learn, then, is to identify which formula to use and how best to solve a mathematical problem. Stimulating these skills would already have great effects.

I think there could be less strictness about the use of cell phones in exams and tests. Teaching how to think would be the best solution, and changing the way these tests are administered, to encourage thinking and not just ready-made answers, would be much more efficient, in my opinion. Imagine how much more productive it would be if students used technological tools to achieve better results. I firmly believe that we need to adapt to the world we live in today. We can't keep using old teaching methods in the middle of the technological revolution, pretending that everything is fine and that nothing needs to be changed in this scenario that is becoming increasingly obsolete.

A educação que as escolas exercem na vida de uma pessoa é de grande importância. Não existe melhor meio de evolução pessoal do que através do estudo e da educação. Seu papel é crucial, afinal, é por meio desse processo que se formam os profissionais do futuro. Mas será que os métodos de ensino utilizados atualmente são os mais adequados, considerando a acessibilidade da tecnologia e o fácil acesso ao conhecimento?

Acredito que é necessário aprender, mesmo quando o conteúdo está facilmente disponível na internet. Não sei se existe uma maneira mais eficiente de fixar certos conhecimentos do que por meio da escrita. Na verdade, sei que escrever apenas potencializa nosso aprendizado, especialmente quando combinado com a oratória de um professor. Claro, precisamos expandir nossa forma de ver o mundo e tentar adequar esse novo cenário em que vivemos, mas talvez o método tradicional ainda seja uma boa forma de ensino, mas até certo ponto, não podemos levar esse mesmo meio como a melhor a ser executada sem pensar em outras possibilidade.

De qualquer forma, acredito que algumas matérias deveriam ser mais presentes na vida dos alunos. Por exemplo, nunca tive, durante todo o meu período escolar, ensinamentos sobre contabilidade, conhecimento financeiro ou primeiros socorros, temas que considero tão importantes quanto matemática ou gramática. Este é um ponto que as escolas poderiam explorar, oferecendo conhecimentos mais práticos para a vida adulta e talvez a mudança já deveria começar por aqui.

Muitos concordam que trabalhar de forma inteligente gera mais resultados do que apenas trabalhar duro, e eu concordo com isso. Se temos boas ferramentas tecnológicas para nos auxiliar, por que não utilizá-las a nosso favor para potencializar o ensino? Há conteúdos que, antigamente, eram ensinados e decorados, mas que hoje não são mais necessários. Temos meios que abrem portas para acessar o conhecimento, sem a necessidade de memorizá-lo. Por exemplo, por que um aluno deveria decorar certas fórmulas, se pode acessá-las facilmente pela internet? Proporcionar esse tipo de acesso é ser mais eficiente, poupando tempo e permitindo que os alunos foquem em aprender coisas realmente importantes.

Embora tenha uma visão mais liberal sobre certas partes desse assunto, acredito que o método de ensino deveria ser ajustado. O que realmente deveria ser ensinado é que o aluno busque soluções, aprenda dinâmicas e estimule sua criatividade e capacidade de aprendizado. Como mencionei antes, um aluno poderia facilmente encontrar uma fórmula específica na internet. O que ele deve aprender, então, é identificar qual fórmula usar e como resolver um problema matemático da melhor maneira. Estimular essas habilidades já teria grandes efeitos.

Acho que poderia haver menos rigor quanto ao uso de celulares em exames e provas. Ensinar a pensar seria a melhor solução, e mudar a forma como esses testes são aplicados, para estimular o pensamento e não apenas respostas prontas, seria muito mais eficiente, na minha opinião. Imagine o quanto seria mais produtivo se os alunos usassem ferramentas tecnológicas para alcançar melhores resultados. Acredito firmemente que precisamos nos adaptar ao mundo em que vivemos hoje. Não podemos continuar utilizando métodos de ensino antigos em plena era da revolução tecnológica, fingindo que tudo está bem e que nada precisa ser mudado nesse cenário que está se tornando cada vez mais obsoleto.
