I don't think there's anyone with a heart that doesn't like babies even if some are scared to go too close or carry them in their hands, there's hardly a one who wouldn't fall in love with their cute eyes, cute smiles and how easily they love you when they are not being selective of who comes close to them. I've had my own share of baby experiences and I can't talk about the experiences without giving off a happy smile.
My aunt had asked me to go spend time with her during the covid pandemic and it was around the time she had just given birth to Baby Selima. I didn't feel reluctant to go stay with her because I was so excited to see my baby cousin and I wasn't disappointed as always when I saw my beautiful baby cousin moving her body so excitedly as if she knew that someone had been excited to see her.

As if it was planned but I failed to see it that way back then, I became my baby cousin's second mum. She was always in my hand whether she was crying, laughing, eating, pooing, bathing and dressing up... I did all of that for her. I didn't have much on my hand to do so I had all my time spent on my cute baby cousin Selima.
Even as a little baby, Selima seemed very smart and I couldn't help but notice how fast she was growing. She was a baby that didn't let just anyone come close to or carry her so I was always busy with her around and would only be free when she wants her mum to feed her some natural milk haha. I grew so attached to her and I bet she did too from the way she gets excited when I return or about to go out.
Selima's first step? We actually did a wine toasting to it 😂
Her dad had just return from his work after not being around for some days, everyone was happy he came back safely and the question he asked first was if Selina had started walking because it was a month to her one year birthday and he had said he wouldn't celebrate her birthday if she doesn't make her first walk at least 😂 you needed to see me doing rehearsals with Selima because I knew the enjoyment that her birthday would bring to me.
Even though all the rehearsals didn't bring good results, Selima surprised everyone on the day her father returned after some hours when he asked about her. Selima loves milk drinks so much and I opened one for her but had to try my luck again by making her walk to me so she can get it. She wanted to crawl and I scream that she walk instead... It was funny how she stopped moving instead, she kept looking at me and started crying.
When no one but her mum was looking, Baby Selima took her first step... We couldn't believe her mum especially the dad until Selima took another step towards her dad. The happiness in the house was something else that day. Her dad brought a wine home that day, he opened it for a toast and he declared that he will have Selima's birthday celebrated (Phew! I was the most happiest to hear that 😂).
Now, baby Selima is three and so stubborn but then, I love her so much because she was an amazing baby and the first baby I took care of.
Could you please give me one reason why you scream at such an innocent baby Selima? 🙄😒
Babies tend to get scared and start to cry when they are being shouted at or screamed at, and they wouldn´t do what you ask them to do. Lol
One beautiful thing about them is that they do something unexpected when no one is noticing or observing and that is what brings joy and happiness to the parents and people around them. They are just too lovely and I don´t think there is anyone who would hate them.
Lol lemme alone Princess, not this morning please 😂
I didn't scream too much the way you are imagining it.
Don't mind those little humans, doing their thing when no one is looking lol
How can I leave a whale alone? Lol
Good morning, dear. How is work going on Hive?
Oh not again! 🤦♀️
I'm just doing my Hive work haphazardly 🥲
Yet to finish a kdrama I started few days ago lol
Hahaha.... I am also engaging for a few hours before watching a series movies too. Season 1-4, each season, episodes 1-10 😅I am almost finishing Season 2. Not easy and it also affected my activeness here and Discord. Lol
Lol well done o
Enjoy yourself 😂
Thank you for sharing your heartwarming experience with baby Selima! It's true that babies have a way of melting our hearts with their innocent smiles and cute antics. It's amazing how quickly they grow and develop, and it's a privilege to be a part of their journey. It's clear that you developed a strong bond with Selima, and it's wonderful that you were able to witness and celebrate her first steps with her family. It's a reminder that the simple joys in life, like a baby's first step, can bring so much happiness and togetherness. Thank you for sharing your story

Yeah, it was impossible not to grow attached with Selima with her cute smiles and smartness 🙂
Thanks for reading my experience, it is still a memorable one for me.
The help you offered to your aunt showed that you are truly a nice person. Babies are wonderful creatures and it's a joyful thing to be with them though it's not all rosy. Sometimes their cries can make one want to run out of the house.
Selima's story made me to remember a newly married couple in my compound then. His dad also refused to celebrate his first birthday till he walked. The mum did all she could and was frustrated. She gave up the fight. The baby eventually walked when he was a year and three months.
Haha I guess they still celebrated the first birthday right?
Because I know to an extent that Selima's dad would have still celebrated her birthday even if she didn't start to walk 😅
Her dad action was quite a funny one, I could say that he was filled with excitement that he had to buy a wine for a toast. I don't know what babies don't make a move when you force them , you'll just see them displaying those moves suddenly... hehehe, maybe they are shy,lol
Thanks for sharing your experience with us.. it's interesting ☺️
Haha I guess so or maybe they want you expecting too much from them until they are ready lol
Babies are just amazing with their doings, because of the way they awe us with what they do.
Sure hehe
Your aunt was low-key preparing you to be a mother.😅 Because if not, then why the pooping part in your hands.
Truly, babies are adorable creatures and I'm glad selima brought joy to the household when she took her first step...
Lol you're right, she couldn't stop ranting on me that I'll have a baby in the future so I had to learn how... This always happen when I complain that I was tired 😂
You seeeee😂 but it's good tho. So that when your baby comes, it would be a walkover.
Haha sure, I understand
😭🤗
I can imagine the joy, cuz I have had that experience with three of my brothers, it's always worth celebrating
Wow three brothers! That's so lovely 🥰
So much excitement in my heart and visible smile on my face, Baby Selima reminds me of my own Bukky.
Awww I'm glad she reminds you of her 😊
