A Money Thief Was Caught Red-handed

I think it's cool if I say my life hasn't been the greatest but a lot better than many who have witnessed too many crime scenes as I've come to learn that these things affect humans psychologically so I'm lucky to have not witness really scary crime scenes any aside the one I'm about to share about. It isn't a psychological one for me but I bet it was for the family of person involved.

It happened at the market place back in the years when I went to get some items alone. It was as if I knew something bad was going to happen as I didn't like the fact that I was going alone and everything kept giving me signs not to go but I had to as I was the only available to get the items. I decided to go and the first place I went to, I was able to get everything I needed.

I just had to look for a vehicle and start going back home when I noticed a young man (he must be in 20s) he took a money purse lying around in a shop not so far away from me, I knew immediately that he was a thief but since I wasn't the loud voice type to scream and I felt awkward to even think of doing it, I decided to go tell the store owner what I saw. But before I could do so, I heard a very loud scream from another store owner "Thief oooo" and I knew then, that I didn't have to bother on what I had wanted to do.

Some young guys in the market chased after him which took a longer time than expected because I was curious to know if he'll be caught or not. Then somehow, he ran past me (I almost fell down) you needed to see how scared I got because it felt like he knew I was going to report him 😅 well, he was caught.

He couldn't stop begging and asking them to free him that he wouldn't steal again. As an onlooker, I forgave him already as if it was my purse he stole. I began to give myself reasons he would steal but in reality, no one in the market was ready to let him go free. I knew where all was going so I told myself to start going home.

While I was about leaving, I heard some of the market people argue on what to do with him. Some suggested that they burn him alive and others suggested they take him to the police station. I couldn't stop praying and hoping that they will agree to take him to the police station instead.

It has become an annoying tradition for thieves to be burnt alive when caught but I've never liked it because I feel every human has the right to live no matter what they did except God himself takes their life away. But that isn't the case for this young man, I hurried home to avoid seeing his end but later heard of how he ended up.

He got burned alive... I wish they handled the case differently 🥲

I hate thieves. I want to believe that everyone does. But burning people for stealing from a shop is not something that can go down my throat very well. Not today, not forever!

The fact that we even praise ugly men in suits who steal our monies openly in front of us and we can’t even wait for a second to pass a crucial judgment over someone’s life for stealing something wayy smaller, that alone says a lot about our hypocrisy and how we have deviated away from what is right.

It only takes one loud shout from one angry person to burn another human being for stealing bread. But I’ll take over 100 judges and a serious miracle to put another corrupt politician behind bars.

That’s our sad reality

Oh my! Look at that mindset! I didn't even think deep on all this before I concluded that I hate the fact of humans burning thieves alive.

The big men who are stealing government money must have the right to do so seeing how it's hard to even say a word about it to them 😏

Burning thieves is called jungle justice and this is a very bad justice. People that burn the thief isn't perfect too, they should have handed the thief over to the police.
It's a very bad and pathetic justice in which I can't be part of.
Thanks for sharing this

Yeah, it's a sad reality we are faced with today... Can't believe it keeps being practiced for this long

I also don't like people taking laws into their hands, it's very unfair. But then these thieves too can be so annoying, imagine your hard earned money and property someone should just come one day and take everything away.
No matter what though we should hand over those cases to the police even though some police are no longer trust worthy, once they see money they free the criminals.

Too bad we have unworthy police system in our country but it still doesn't justify taking laws into hands to take lives... God help us in this country 🥲

I don't support burning theives alive either, but I see people do it very often around here. Not in my part of Ghana though, but in other regions. Around here, they don't show mercy to thieves either but they don't go as far as burning them alive. That is just inhumane and I hope to see an end to it. You did the right thing not standing around to watch.

Even if it was the right thing to stand, my heart couldn't have been able to bear to witness such a sight 🥲

It's just too bad that this has been going on for a longer time than it should have, no one is coming up to put an end to it.

things were also the same around here, some thieves who got caught red handed sometimes also get a severe punishment from the people including the burning. I am not really agree also, yet sometimes those thieves also don't hesistate to take the victim's lives when they are able.

Just a sad reality in this world.

It's really not fair to me that anyone be punished that way no matter what the person did... It's best to let them suffer being alive and reflect on what they did wrongly

He got burn alive🥲😢😭. That’s one of the things that I hate with passion because people that burned him alive are not different from him that steals and those people have no right to judge people with their own hands but too bad the country is fucked up that everyone do as they like.

This jungle justice eehhh!.
But it's weird how people cope with such smells from a burning human. That's always what comes to my mind each time I hear that someone was burnt alive.

That wasn't the lucky day of that thief.
"... one day for the owner"

Its sad seeing these young chaps go into crimes when they should focus on a positive way to live their lives.

Really sad 😢

A sad story indeed i also wonder why people do this things even after knowing they'll be dead when caught especially in a market place. Satan has more power than we imagine sha.

More power indeed, sometimes he just controls them to do it even though they know the repercussions 🥲
