My One Way of Making a Difference Outside of Hive

Apart from blogging on Hive, I am a teacher in real life. A teacher is a guide and director as far as learning is concerned. Just like we direct someone who is confused about something, guide someone to understand something better, that is the same role I play in the life of children. I help children explore the four walls of knowledge.

From the early stage of our life, everything looks like a puzzle to us; we ask lots of questions out of curiosity, and we need someone to tell us what many things represent for us to learn. Just like these kids, I was once like them, very young and tender, curious to understand the mysteries of life, the strangest things like letters, numbers, words, sentences, science among others.

Without teachers, I don't know what the world would look like. I love teachers and I love the profession. This is why it is my job as a teacher to help these children which I was once like years ago to understand what these things that look mysterious stand to represent.

We do this by identifying letters and numbers, reading different comprehension passages every day, sounding the vowels and consonants, and having discussion sessions together.

While this is the basic idea of who a teacher is, there is more to being a teacher than just teaching from textbooks, calculating, and writing on the board. The joy that comes from being a teacher is about helping others to grow, seeing progress in the learning process of your pupils.

I don't think I would have been able to help others grow today if there were no teachers when I was growing up to direct my learning and help me explore the vast world of knowledge. Teaching involves being patience and kind when inculcating in the lives of the pupils. There are so many things to learn in school; we learn beyond just the classroom in school, there are other extracurricular activities.

The future of the young generation is based on what they learn now. They become what they become in the future from what they learn in school. Teachers are great educators when it comes to inspiring children to discover their passion and abilities and contribute positively to society in the future.

If I had the chance to change from being a teacher, would I? I wouldn't. Teaching for me is a profession I love so much. When I see children grow and understand what I'm teaching, it is a plus for me. I love seeing them improve and being the best version of who they are. For me, there is this inner great joy that comes with being a teacher.

Though being a teacher comes with lots of stress and its own challenges. Some days can be tiring and uninspiring; some days might come when I'm not prepared for a particular lesson, some days can come with lots of questions when children come with lots of questions that leave me going the extra mile to find out an answer, but notwithstanding, the reward is greater than the challenges because as I am impacting on them, I am equally learning.
