At the end of the day it is an education problem. Trained people will know how to differentiate that a movie is romanticizing crime to sell you to see the movie, pay for the movie ticket or bombard you with all the commercials during the show or movie, because that's what it's about, selling a product and get money. It is capitalism, and in my opinion, you fight that by educating yourself.
