IT WAS ABOUT A WEEK AGO

This is quite a beautiful coincidence because the last time that I traveled was only about a week ago or so, just last and the next time that I will travel will be in two days. Man on the move.

And, this is just the start of my travel experience and escapades giving that I already have a tailored plan of the places that I would want to visit going forward, possibly from now until the year wraps up. Now that I have some time on my hands, I think it is wise to do some sightseeing and journeying in addition to a number of other few things to check-out on my list.

My trip of just a week ago was very eventful. It was from Enugu to Abia state. I had gone for a funerlal(of my mum's sibling). Usually, for these kinds of function, good or bad, it is most expected that everyone tries to show up. But circumstances, time and chance stood in the way and a number of us couldn't. Only me and just one of my older sibling could. I could not afford to not be available because i knew that there was need for the extra hands from us the younger people. And compared to the rest who couldn't make it, I had more freetime to work with.

So, let me just give you a brief run-down of what happened. A day before the trip, after I had so procrastinated my journey, I went into the market and got some personnal stuff ranging footwear, toiletries, sunglasses, one Jean, and some polo. I made all these purchases with my sister staying on the other end of the line, helping me make a good choice over a whatsapp video call.

The day of the trip, as I have realized to be my way, I went to the bus station towards the afternoon, just after doing last-minute packing. There was a loading bus going to my destination, but there were only about three people in it, so we had to wait until it got full. I just paid my ticket and took a seat I thought most comfortable(by the window) cause I sometimes experience motion sickness, particularly if it was a public bus. Eventually, the bus got filled up, and we hit the road by about 2:00pm.

Long story short, we got to the city's capital. It's changed somewhat. It was early in the year since I went there but there's been some development with the roads; a few done, others under construction, street lights, less and less clusters of people selling their wares in the centre of the road, and some others. I just enjoy the ambiance of the state and look forward to its development, with the change in hands of power. I just sat as the journey progressed, taking in every occurrence.

When I got down from a tricycle I boarded, which was to take me to another location where I'd catch a bus going my way, I paid my fare. I had only walked some distance before I realized that I left one of my bags in the tricycle. I turned, looked around, and walked back to where I had dropped but could not find the tricycle. My heart sank. In that bag was all the new stuff I had bought, a new tailored suit I had made and some other of my old clothing and belongings. I had gone with two bags because I planned to not go back immediately but make some visits thereafter.

After waiting around a little, I realized there was nothing I could do and since it was getting really late, I called one of my cousins who resides in the state's capital to come pick me to go to his place. And that was that. I felt bad about the loss, but I just shoved it aside as one of those travel misfortunes.
Very early the next day, I was up and took a vehicle(two, actually) and found my way to the village.

I've been here ever since then, and like my parents and siblings would say, "I'm a village man." My place is very peaceful, lively and welcoming. I don't think a time would cone when any one of us(me) would be shy from going. I'm even struggling with leaving now. Ive been greeting, eating, gisting, freely moving, just enjoying from the abundance of this zone. I might be back here for the festive holiday too. This is home!

I hope this was descriptive enough and you found it interesting to read. Thank you for stopping by.
