In my opinion Religion has gotten very involved in this issue. The thing is, if you talk about it, particularly in my country, a woman who doesn't want to have children or only wants to have one is frowned upon, because she “should want” a little boy and girl. And I thought, but it's my body, and I'm the one who will feel the effects in my body. Besides, what assurance do I have that by pleasing the father and having two children, he won't leave me...? And then I would have to take responsibility for two. It's one thing to say you want to have children... and quite another to say I want to be a mother, I want to be a father... Children are people, not pets, and there are people who have the mentality of practically using children, of having many children so that the older ones take care of the younger ones...

totally agree! religion and social pressure get involved where they shouldn’t. In the end, it’s your body, your life, and you’re the one who will deal with everything. Having a child isn’t about pleasing anyone: it’s a huge decision, not a whim.
