Tell us about your favourite sport, the sports you like to watch or partake in. Explain to us what you love about the sports and why you play the sports.
Firstly I will tell you a little about boxing;
Boxing π₯π₯ is a unique game played by two individuals who bush each other using a specially made gloves for the sport. This sport is been fought with bare hands, this makes it a brutal and violent sport.
Boxing π₯π₯ started in England, between eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. In 1867 boxing π₯ rules (Queensberry Rules) was introduced to regulate the sport. It's an Olympic sport.
How Boxing is been played
This is determined by number of rounds: four at minimum and 12 at maximum. Then Each round lasts three minutes, with one minute rest in between the three minutes. The match is been scored by Judges. match can come to an end in four different reasons which are:
- A fighter is knocked out and can no longer continue (technical knock out).
- A match goes all 12 rounds, but one fighter earns more points than the other (draw).
- A fighter is knocked to the ground and the referee counts to ten (knock out).
- A fighter is disqualified for doing something illegal (DQ).
Ways to Win are:
- Opponent fall 2 to 3 times on the canvas in the same round of fight (this number of times depends on the competition).
- Referee can also score a technical knockout. This happens when one of the boxers is taking with many consecutive blows and the referee considers that he can not receive the blows anymore.
- When opponent lands on the ground or rests on the ropes, and the referee counts up to 10 and the athlete can't stand up at the end of counts, (Knock out).
- Another one is that the assistants may throw towel to the floor, this means they are giving up on the fight.
The main thing in boxing is to hit the most direct hits on the opponent, at the end of the game, the judges will make a vote between the person who have the most direct hits.
Rules Of Boxing Sport
The two fighters should have the same weight of class, that's when the rules will be fairly straightforward. You cannot hit below the belt nor hold, You also cannot hit with your head, forearm, shoulder, or elbow, bite, trip, headbutt, wrestle, spit at, kick, or push an opponent.
- When strokes are considered to be scored, if they are hit from the front or the side of the head and also on the abdomen of the opponent. Hits on the arms are not scored.
- The boxer can not strike his opponent while he is on the ground.
- Bites are also cause for referee warning and potential disqualification of boxer.
- Punches at the back of the head, grabbing or striking below the waist are infractions. When done, the referee gives a warning to the boxer. If this is repeated again, the boxer will be disqualified.
