So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the third topic for this week which is “TEXTING DO’S AND DON’TS”.

But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic which was “ANTI-DEMOCRACY”.

This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about their experiences with democracy in their country and how it had affected the affairs of the country and its people since its inception. Democracy is designed to give the people power and make sure they have a say in the affairs of their country. Sadly, for many people, that is not the case.

We got to see just how badly democracy is being treated in so many parts of the world. From human rights violations to corruption and large-scale embezzlement, people are willing to do anything and everything that they can to get into power.

This author told us about how the democratic system in his country has been taken over by the mafia and corrupt politicians who are only after their personal gain. He believes that a blockchain system, one where the activities of the government will be transparent for the masses to see will encourage everyone in power to do the right thing and nothing else.

For this author, she told us about how the democratic system in Ghana was rigged solely to favor those at the top. From the policies that are made to the appointments that are given, everything is only done to keep the power within a small circle and keep everyone else in suffering.

For this author, he shared with us how bad democracy has gotten in his country. It seems like there is an invisible hand controlling the affairs of the country, pushing things towards only one direction where the powerful will remain in power and the citizens will be left to languish in the subsequent hardship.
