Hello everyone, how are you doing today? This is going to be Week 08, Edition 01 of our Weekly Featured Content.

So, last week Saturday we had the last hangout that was just so much fun we did not want it to come to an end. We are on our first topic for the week which is “POLLUTION”. This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about the level of pollution in their countries, the types, and how it affects their daily living.

We got to learn about the major causes of pollutants, seeing as they vary from place to place. We also saw the ways ordinary citizens are coping with something that has come to be a norm and an everyday thing while hoping that in time those in authority will do something about it.

We went through every entry post, every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w8e1 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors will be listed below:

SAY NO TO POLLUTION by @nilahayati

For this author, the main areas of pollution that are faced in her community are Water pollution and Forest destruction. The water is polluted when mining for gold close to the river, so scrapings, dust, and the likes get into the water. Making it unfit for human consumption unless it is treated. And the forest is been cleared of its trees, thereby disrupting the ecosystem. To solve this, the government, the community, and those that are polluting the area have to come together and work toward the common good.

POLLUTION (THE ENVIRONMENT CONTAMINANT) by @ckole

This author listed air, land, and water pollution, he gave their examples and also the dangers that are faced when they are allowed to get out of hand. And he also gave simple solutions that if the government and the people work together can fix.

HEALTH IS WEALTH by @quduus

This author also talked about water, air, and land pollution. But then, he went further to add other forms like soil, noise, and light pollution. These are all caused by various things, and they all have different solutions as well. He suggested some in his post, you can look into it yourself.
