Yeah, in general when we would have these gatherings with friends it would always end up in a sort of 'pot luck' situation so that no one has to cook that much and no one has to spend that much.

Also...im not really into the giving gifts kind of thing as often you will end up with a bunch of crap as 'it is just for the idea of it'. Rather save up and buy something decent all together.
