Security is very key in every matter of life:Securing and protecting what belongs to you is very important, else you will only be labouring while others will be there eating what they did not labor for...Same happened in the hive world:
We have those who are in hive world not really to labour and get rewards for their labour, they are rather there to steal, to killed and to destroy the labour of many years, others have invested with their sweat.Those people are known as thief, hackers, and the likes.For this purpose this has brought us to what is called:

The hive keys and security are important keys and guidelines that helps an innocent hiver in the hive world to safeguard his/her account against such hackers.

In securing one's account some steps are needful to be followed and thus below are the necessary steps in account security:

Steps involved in changing a recovery account (trustee account):
Now, before introducing you to the steps in recovering account, I guess you will love to know and understand what a recovery account is all about, right?.
A recovery account is the account attached to your original account for the purpose of helping you recover your account whenever it is temper or stolen.
We can said ,it is a third party account confirmed (during the process) and attached to your original account.It is usually default to the system you used opening the account (either steem, eccency or by some automate system). But it is most advisable to use someone who is well known and easily accessible, known as your trustees.

Now what are the steps for setting up one's recovery accounts?. Below are the steps:
For those using PeakD, or Ecency,
Go to your profile, and search for the memo setting.On your setting, go to permission. Once you click on the icon, you will see Recovery account, click the icon and follow the further instructions.

And moreso in recovery your account, it's not automatic, there are some keys that will be required from you, to confirmed you as the accounts owners. This keys are very ambiguous, but you must know them and privately save them.
Those keys or password are your identity and security power in the hive world. You can find them on your setting "managed authority" for those using ecency.
The keys and their functions are defined below:
Memo key:This is the least used key.It function mainly to review private message, as a result higher authorities keys may not be needed.
Postings key:It is most often use for social networking in hive blockchain.it can be used for making post, comments, reblog, etc. But it has less authority to monetary aspect. meaning if this key is mistakely revealed, it will not has any effect to your money.
Active key: This key is used for Hive power up/down, for voting for witness and conversion of HBD.The key is very sensitive to monetary-related aspect. It is therefore very important to safely safeguard this key so that one does not lose his/her token rewards.
Owner key:This is a very important key which is use in hive blockchain for resetting all other password and for resetting a recovery account.
Master key:The master key has a just a little slight difference from the owner key.While the owner key is used to reset all passwords, the master key is used to recover all keys probably when the keys are lost or cannot be remembered.
Finally, someone may asked what can i do if my Active key has probably been exposed, since gaining access to that key is like getting access to one's assets?:
The simple thing to do is to just reset your keys using the owner key, since it's the vital key use to reset all other keys and even account recovery.
