Paternity Leaves Should Be For Both !

Hey Everyone, I hope you are all fine and doing great. This post is my entry for the weekly featured content in the #Hivelearners community. Today's topic to write about is Paternity Leave

Our topic for today is a very important one, and I believe that every person who gets married has to go through this situation. There are some situations where there are no children; in those cases, we cannot speak in this context.

When a person gets married, whether they are a man or a woman, their life completely changes when they find out they are going to become parents. Their priorities change, their habits change, and their concerns change. The person who used to think only about themselves completely forgets to think about themselves anymore. In my opinion, there is perhaps no relationship more beautiful than this.

Since women tend to be a bit more emotional, as the day of the baby's birth approaches, they start to express their feelings even more intensely. On the other hand, men are much less expressive; they keep their feelings bottled up inside.

Giving birth to a child is like being reborn after having died; you can imagine how difficult this process is. This is why Islam holds women and mothers in such high regard, and it is for this reason that in our beloved religion, paradise is placed beneath the feet of the mother.

After the baby is born, a woman needs rest, which is why women are given leave all around the world after childbirth. During this time, she stays at home, rests, and takes care of herself and her baby. Meanwhile, the man, who is usually the sole breadwinner, does not get leave and continues to go to work daily to fulfil his responsibilities.

In my opinion, it shouldn’t be this way. Just as leave is essential for a mother, it is equally important for a father. I’m not saying this because he needs rest or that he requires it, but because he has feelings too. Even if he can’t explain or express them, he also wants to spend as much time as possible with his baby and build a bond with them. Moreover, this is the time when a wife needs her husband the most, just like she needed him before giving birth.

That’s why I believe this rule should be changed, and men should also be given leave alongside women, at least for 3 months.

Hmm. In such a time women need more support mentally. I think if they is a break, then fathers can also give strong support to their beloved wife and enjoy some precious moments with newborn child.
