The Lost Art of Respect: Why Kids Today Misbehave More Than Ever

Back in the time every kid used to respect elders way better than the kids we have got nowadays. This Generation misbehaves whenever they want with anyone and there's a lot of reasons why this is happening.

Kids nowadays knows more than they should, they use all those Slangs and cursed words like it's normal to speak like that and when you try to correct that kid, either going to misbehave or cry about it.

Kids used to be taught manners strictly back then

I myself was grown up in strict environment since my parents are strict they always cared about how I'm speaking to them and with others.

Told me what Tone I should keep while talking to them or any elders from the very beginning and when they hear a slight difference in my tone while speaking to them, they used to correct that on spot by giving lectures or slipper treatment (depends on their mood).

When we used to meet someone, have to greet first by being polite and when someone comes at your home you offer water, food etc

All these things were told by parents and it is basic 101 parenting that seems like missing nowadays either because parents aren't focused or kids/parents too busy on smartphone.

It's all soft parenting fault

When a kid misbehaves, it is simply because parents are soft and they think correcting children will break their confidence.

Like in my own family I have seen these kids growing up by soft parents and everytime they misbehaves, the response will be: either laugh or nothing much

I even asked why not correct kids when we can and we should so they don't misbehave with others in teen or later.

And they'll be like these are kids, we can't just slap em or scream at them cause it'll be traumatic and they'll never know how to talk or speak confidently.

Some of it makes sense like don't scream or slap kids because they misbehaved but there's better way to correct these kids like taking privileges away when they do it often

No more Game because you behaved like that with mom. one or two hours in, that kid will be on his knees and lesson learnt that "misbehaving isn't good".

This isn't soft parenting nor harsh just the way it should be to teach kids manners - in my opinion.

Wrapping Up...

In the end it all comes down to upbringing of kids, the way we do.. I remember my parents saying that the way we speak to others represent how well your parents have raised you.

And the society is always going to blame parents if some kid misbehave, I had this fear if I did misbehaved and someone told my parents, I'm screwed. I don't think today's kid care about it anymore. is it different in your side of the world? Would love to know how it's like kids misbehaving and the way parents correct them. Do share your thoughts on this in the comments.

LOL! Slipper treatment 🤣

The good ol’ days. Seemed harsh when we were young perhaps, but now that we are seeing what happens to children without discipline, it becomes evermore apparent that this was love. No one wants to be around an asshole, so our parents taught us respect so that others could tolerate us. In the end, this results in a higher quality of life and more well-rounded and honest relationships.

Exactly, realised it now.

This is true. The society points accusing finger at parents for a misbehaving child.

The increased level of nowadays is as a result of decreased level of discipline. The few kids I know to be well behaved now have parents who are tough on them.
Charity really begins from home

indeed.

It all begins from home, kids pick up and learn everything from there to onwards...

They don't care any more. Kids love to take down their elders, which is not the best, although it is best to bring up your child so well because what they display out there would be reflected back to the parents.

exactly, they don't care.

This is why need to make sure kids get that elite parenting.

No more games?😂😂

Slipper, belt and water cane treatment are still surefire tools for parenting in my country.
Although the soft parenting rage is encroaching...

You got me at "slipper treatment" 🤣

Honestly I even got some slaps when I was a child, and they didn't break me anything but teached me that misbehaving is "bad" and it's way better to be polite and have good manners (thus avoiding a slap, you never know 😂 )

haha !LOLZ

Those slap felt so bad back then but now "understandable, it's fine"

Wouldn't have learnt manners if those slaps weren't there.

(Gotta keep this tradition alive - LoL)
