The Hidden Magic of Rural Living: Why I Prefer It Over City Life

in Hive Learners2 days ago
After living most of my life in one city to another within the same country mostly the urbanized areas, I found it pretty boring and dull life as there's not that many places to go or things to do.

A few years ago we decided to spend time in rural side aka hometown and everything about my life changed while being there.

I once hated rural areas and the life people had there because it was so simple and hard compared to city.

Life in Rural side Vs Urban: Which one I'll prefer

The time I spent in my hometown (rural) taught me one thing that we can find happiness in simplicity with not much around you except the natural beauty that already exists in the place.

It wasn't the people that made rural life special, it was the place that have it's own magic though without people it'd be boring

We had network and internet access but it works slow.. won't make you frustrate when you look up in the sky at night and there's an entire universe blinking and watching you.

We have electricity there and that too much cheaper than urban area.. electricity bills in city gives you stress, while rural one gives happiness like you'll be actually happy while paying that bill.

I never got more than $2 bill when I was in hometown.. and here in city I'm paying more than $40 every month.

Life isn't hard in rural side anymore

If I had to make a decision to live in some rural area 20 years ago.. I'd say no without thinking twice.

But now it's different, life isn't hard anymore in rural side.. it's now more beautiful because of how easy it is to travel from one place to another as the roads are good.

We didn't have roads years back so it was tough for people. Now they travel all the time to get groceries, other stuff easily.

Now life is difficult when you're in urban area because how expensive everything is.

But in rural side you'll have affordable electricity almost like it's free, free water from wells that are 100 times cleaner than those tap water in city.

We don't have gas in hometown yet, so it's a bit "old style" like gas in cylinder or bonfire style cooking.

but when you retire

Living in rural area is all fun and games basically when you've made it in real life and are financially strong now.

Since there's no work opportunities in rural areas except online.. you'll have to hustle in urban area like I'm doing.. and when you retire yourself.. you can just move there and live your life peacefully which is my plan (more like dream).

Wrapping Up...

In the end there's always a lot of comparison about rural and urban, since I've lived in both that too for years.. I will always choose rural over urban anytime.

There's just more benefits of living in rural than the disadvantage (work opportunities) since everything is online you can easily make it up with that.

Though I'd love to know your thoughts and how different it is in your place.. do share about it in the comments.

I would also prefer the more cheaper place to live in, the $40-$4 difference is way too much.
