SEEKING THE TRUTH IN THE FACE OF LIES

Not so often do I take up the remote to tune in to the news to find out what’s going on around me. I mean, I’m already so fond of being on my phone so even sitting in front of a tv screen these days takes a lot for me to do. I’d rather just be on my phone doing other things. Well, that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate the news, I just haven’t seen so much need in listening to the news. When I’m at home, if my dad (not biological) puts on the tv to watch his evening news, if I don’t have anything serious to do I always enjoy sitting with him to get the information for that evening.

Sitting with my dad to watch the news is actually fun because he knows that doesn’t happen often so he always does his best to explain some previous events that will help me appreciate the current information better. Listening to the news is an eye opener and it also helps you make useful contributions in matters related. I always enjoy it when the vehicle I board while traveling tunes in to a radio station to let us know what’s going on, I get to hear some things that pique my interest and also know how my fellow citizens think about different topics.

I always appreciate a conversation kind of news when there will be callers and everyone that gets there calls in can say something based on how they feel or think is correct. The truth is, most of the information on national news even though they are all not true, they are something you can work with because it is a national news, as they are expected to always cross check information before dishing them out to the general population to listen to. So whenever I get the opportunity to get updates from a national news, I always try to make good use of it because I know I’m definitely going to learn something new from it.

The major problem we are having these days as regards news is the internet, now everyone has access to it, so you can just go online and say whatever you think you want to say without checking for facts. There are reliable sources for news regarding everything that is out there on the internet, the problem is everyone is too busy to go for details so they mostly just go for the one that pops up on their social media feed. Personally, I don’t like banking on any news whether by a national tv or not, I just try to get enough information and with time, it is definitely going to make sense all together because even in the lies, there is an atom of truth.

You can only say a news is false because you know the fact. Depending on the news I am looking for on the internet or on tv, that is what will help me know where to find the information just as it is. Most times, for information concerning a disaster, give it time you will definitely get to know how it happened over time because there will be videos about it from an innocent person, hehe. The thing is, the truth can’t be hidden for long, we just have to be slow to drawing our conclusions.

So the major way I go about seeking for the fact in every news I hear is trying to be patient, I try to wait for more information as regards what I’ve heard no matter how urgent it might seem. Because we know we are time dependent, we most times use that to our own detriment and it’s not supposed to be that way. Time is not on our side but it’s better to spend it on finding the fact or truth about something because that alone will help you save even more time if you don’t quit.

Especially in a country like mine, there are a lot of people trying to be on trending so they can go as far as they can just to make sure they achieve their goals even as far as making false claims on the internet. So I just try my best these days to get information, save them, keep saving them until the truth reveals itself, which I’m very sure will happen no matter how long.
