RE: A DISAPPOINTMENT OR A SUCCESS || HIVE BOOTCAMP RESULTS

in Hive Learners2 years ago

Yeah I will still say it's a success too because 5/9 is a pass mark. Well first of all, I'll love to appreciate you guys @monioluwa, @olujay and you Star for coming up with such an amazing way to prepare people for their life on Hive, is indeed a great idea.

I have so many things I'd love to say but it's still scattered in my head and I'm kind of finding it hard to put them all together to make sense to me but I will just say a few things.

First on the aspect of the tutorials given to these future newbies if I should call them that, well I think the tutorial is a bit too hard for just anyone to understand, I can bet that there are some people on Hive who are doing well hear but they don't know some of these things too.

So my suggestion is, it will be best if you teach them just the basis of being a blogger or vlogger on Hive first, then when you see their enthusiasm to learn by maybe, giving them a topic to write on and assess it after the deadline given, that way you can know if this person will strife or not.

Then, after getting those that have a very good basis of being a good blogger or vlogger, you then make it compulsory for them to be part of the newbies initiative and then you can teach them more on the do's and don't's of Hive and at the end of every tutorial, you give them tasks and the deadline.

After it reaches the deadline, you give them each a break down of how well or poorly they did and this means you will need more hands and also, you will have to set the number of people needed for each initiative too to make the work easy and realistic too. What I mean is, you have to know all your students and build that students - teacher relationship with them.

Now I've said too much, I will have to stop here first and see if you understand where I'm going to 🥰. I might have spoken out of point too, like I said earlier, the thoughts are still scattered in my head 😏.

I wish you all the best in achieving your goal if on boarding genuine people to Hive 🙏❤️.

I get what you are saying but it does not go align with the purpose of the bootcamp. The Newbies Initiative is a separate program created for those who found their where to Hive without knowing the basics of Hive.

So giving them an account first would render the bootcamp useless. The Bootcamp is made to get them ready for Hive.

Also, getting each individual to write a post or video is not a way to check if they would take Hive seriously but how much they are willing to sacrifice their time to learn, shows a sign of effort.

Also, this would reduce the need for the number of participants I bring to join the Newbies Initiative.

Do you get my point now alongside the purpose for each of these programs.

Okay I got the point that the boot camp is for those who want to come to Hive while the newbies initiative is for those who are already in Hive and needs some guidance.

That means I deviated a lot. Well, I still feel the tutorials are a bit too complicated for someone to just understand, it will be best if you think of a way to teach a topic twice or you guys take some time to really analyze each topic well so anyone can easily understand it.

Thank you for explaining the difference between the boot camp and the newbies initiative, I almost thought they were for the same purpose 😬.

Talking about the difficulty of the tutorials, we gave every Newbie a chance to ask questions. I mean Live questions regarding the tutorials if they do not understand anything.

So I don’t think any one of them would feel the same way you have said about the tutorial. By the way, it was broken down to be very simple, they got a PDF tutorial that was originally made by us, a live tutorial and a medium to ask question.

We even do recaps of what we taught, and always give them the opportunity to ask questions.

I believe by now, you would know that the tutorial would not be hard for them if they show up for live meetings and ask questions.

Wow!!! That's a lot you guys did, I'm really surprised that non of them managed to finish the task but one thing is certain, they have a little knowledge about Hive now and it's all thanks to you guys.

Don't mind me, I'm sorry for jumping into some unnecessary conclusions earlier and thank you for clarifying things to me, I really appreciate 🙏🙌.
