Just A Visit Is Enough For Me

in Hive Learners15 days ago

There are several countries in the world; each of them has one thing or the other that makes them unique. Most times we know so much about our country, forgetting to look into other countries too. When we see what happens in other places, it helps us to know how to appreciate what we have better or even seek a way to improve what is at hand. One country that I have dreamed of visiting is Ghana. When I started having this desire, I didn't know jack about the country.

The love I have for the country is just natural, so I don't know one thing in particular that made me fall in love with it. The love for the country got more definition when I went for a program and was so fortunate to meet with someone from the country here in my country. His name is Ernest. Ernest was so lovely and caring. The kind gesture he showed made me believe that Ghanaians love without anything behind it; it's so selfless. When I was much younger, we were told about how Ghanaians were sent out of Nigeria, and when they were exiting, they carried a particular bag, and that bag was named Ghana must go. It is so baffling how well Ghana, as a country that was sent out of a country, was able to put itself together.

Years back, Ghana cedis were far less in value than that of Nigeria, but today the reverse is the case. Ghana formerly looked up to Nigeria for many things, but as we speak, they have gone far ahead of us in places like development because of the nature of their leaders. Some years back I tried my best to visit the country Ghana, but all my efforts were fruitless. I am still in contact with my friend Ernest, and we spoke just last month. I got some shocking news from Ghana, which is in line with their education. A friend of mine told me to help her make an inquiry on the administration into a school in Ghana for those that want to study medicine. Ernest asked me the person's grade in WAEC, and I told him.

It was so shocking when he told me the result can't give him admission to study medicine in their country. It took me a while before I could get out of the shock, and I resorted to encouraging my kids to sit up because I wished their results to meet international standards. If the opportunity is down to my doorstep, I will like to visit Ghana to see how things go on in that country. Not that there are no negative things that I hear, but I have decided to major in the positive aspects rather than the negative. I won't want to relocate 🥹🚆; just a visit and back after a while is enough for me. Truth be told, there's no place like home; I can fart as I wish, and no one will question me, Why did you fart here? Not that I like places of lawlessness; don't get me wrong.

What I am saying is that even though there are just many things that are not working well in my country, I believe that things will get better soon. If the prices of things suddenly began to drop, as this is my first time seeing something like this for a very long time. I believe things will take a new shape so soon. My entry to the last edition of this week's contest. Thank you for reading.

Madam where you dey go? Stay here make I japa first. Then when I come back I will tell you the whole story.
Jokes apart, Ghana is a good place to be. Just looking at their method of education makes me love Ghana. Here in Nigeria, our students struggle to write jamb Year in and out. But in Ghana once you pass your WAEC, you move straight into the university. Can you imagine the difference?

Ghana and Nigeria are like fire and water. We like hanging each other. The truth is that we are brothers and sisters. We share so many similarities with them. I have many good friends there and I'd like to travel there soon.
