A habitat is the natural place where a plant or an animal lives.it provides everything living things need to survive, such as air , water, food and shelter.

Different types of plants and animals can be found in and around a pond.

Mosses grow in damp and shady places . They often grow on rocks near a pond.

Algae grow on the surface of the pond . They are food for many animals.
⚫◾Floating plants:
Some plants , like water hyacinth and water lettuce, float on the water.
⚫◾Rooted plants:
Plants like cattails and water lilies grow from the bottom of a pond .
Their leaver float on the surface to get sunlight because very little sunlight can reach the bottom of the pond
