Totally agree, there are a lot of examples as you said, for some reason while I was reading the first part of your post where you bring the racist example, some hard feelings crossed my mind, in which people attack whole families, children included, out of rage, revenge or debts claims, that is and have been a sad reality. Yes, we see this a lot in movies and series, that the parents are racist but the children aren't, that they have a different view, but then the people who don't like these parents end up mistreating and judging the children together, even though they think differently, so I don't think children can be judged by their parents' problems.
People don't get to understand that if they want respect for their beliefs or ways to see life right or wrong, they need to respect other's, including childs, every person has the right to chose the right way according to their beliefs.
That's right, I think so too! It's great that our thinking is aligned.
