So gradually the Christmas and new year holiday is coming to an end for all of us, though for some it would end sooner than for others like me.
Some of my friends didn't even go on holiday because they had shifts even on Christmas Day, lol. Guess is the price we pay.
As for me, I have been on holiday for the past few weeks since I graduated and as such even when the holiday officially ends for everyone, I will still be on holiday at least until I gain employment. You see, I am currently an unemployed doctor 🥲
I actually want the holiday to end as soon as possible so that my school where I just graduated from will open and various offices will resume so that I can complete my clearance and be completely free from them while I wait for employment knowing full well that I would not need to run back to the school for one document or the other afterwards.
This Christmas in the village was not as fun as the last one which was also not as fun as the one before it and so on. It has been on a steady decline for the past six or seven years now because a good number of my age group members have stopped coming home for Christmas and as such I am forced to hang out with those older or those younger, especially the older ones and it's never as fun as your age group even though you get to learn a thing or two while hanging out with these elderly ones.
I have not gone out to the village stream because I don't think I will have so much fun going there alone, even though I know I will meet other younglings from the neighbouring families but that's entirely dependent on chance. I am considering going there, but no motivation yet.
Apart from this factor I just mentioned, I also suffer from poor network and no light. I don't know the reason for the network problem but it has gotten better over the years at least I can come online from the front of my house or the edge of my window. A few years ago you could only get network by going to the outermost family junction, lol. Those days were hell.
The light issue is one that pains me seriously, you only have light as long as you have fuel in your generator, once it's finished, you are on your own. This and coupled with the network issues give me concern.
I have also missed playing snooker, I have not even played any game since 24th December, this is like my longest gameless streak.
That being said, I want to pack up and leave this minute but I can't do that just yet because I have to stay with my parents who I believe are enjoying the celebration more than I am and who see this period as a time to rest from the hustle and bustle of the year.
I do suggest resting at our house in town but somehow the village always seems more appealing to them for rest.
Well for the year, I am looking forward to getting a good placement for housemanship and starting work. I hope it favours me and that I am successful in my endeavours.
