In the world we live in today, no doubt the invention of technologies in all parts of life has made life easier, and especially in the education sector, having personally witnessed the gradual shift in the education sector, being a 90s kid, there were so many loopholes in the traditional education system that has seen advancement today, making life easy for both the teachers, parent and students.
For instance, in the past, student's info and other important documents were manually stored using pen and paper, maybe a typewriter as time went on, but this was still a cumbersome task, as our principal's office or maybe store/library for some were usually cluttered with students with these documents, there were even cases of misplacement, but today, with the use of computers, all of those files can be stored on the hard drive, easy to search out a name and no more long hours spent sorting student's records.
Another impeccable part of this evolution is research making, gone are those days when students had to spend many hours in the library sorting different books to write on a research topic or assignment, with the use of our mobile devices and the internet, information are provided for us within seconds making education stress free and fun compared to the past. Does this warrant that students be given access to their phones in school at all times?
The logical answer to the above question is a big no, education is all about imparting knowledge and also proofing that the knowledge has been indeed impacted through tests and exams, just because we now have AI at our disposal doesn't mean a student should not be allowed to think critically with their brains. I'm not against students owning a phone, I even have an Ipad bought for my kids, but there should be restrictions like during exam or test, this will facilitate cheating if not cautioned, also, we will be breeding a next generation of dullards which at the end of it all will spell doom for us
Life itself is not a bed of roses, when we think critically about a thing, solution is provided, it may seem like we have all technology now, but trust me, we've not even started, so we shouldn't let the fantasy that the world is perfect now cloud our judgment, there's so much more our young generation can still do, we shouldn't take that chance away by letting them become dullards, thinking we are giving them the best by letting Ai think for them at all times.
Yes, these technologies, have changed lives, the choice is left for us to know when restriction can be placed when it concerns the students, they are our future tomorrow, Our phone helps no doubt, but it can also bring a distraction further leading to addiction which in turn lowers the productivity thereby affecting their grades, and the whole essence of being within the four walls of a school is departed.

Nice post 👏👏
NO doubt the technology is to make our lives easy but not to ease the fundamental study. if students are using the AI and the phones to solve the problems or assignments then they will not be able to participate later in any growth of nation.

The restrictions really matters and that’s one way to retain the educational value over time. There are always advantages and disadvantages to everything
