Talents are naturally developed abilities and they are beyond the things we refer to as talents in the world today. It doesn't end with just singing, dancing, or drawing, there are more such as having a natural ability to lead, motivate, care for people, and many others.
A lot of people mix up the definition of skill and talent.While talent is a natural ability, a skill is an ability we acquire by learning. The reason for the mix-up is that every ability a human can possess fits into a talent or skill category.
*For instance, a child who started doing artwork without being taught is talented while the child who learned it has gotten a skill.
I have always believed that there isn't any human born without one or more talents but a lot of factors end up robbing us of those abilities. The need for survival has made lots of humans abandon their talent, I think the world would have been a fair place for everyone if our talents can make us successful.
I had lots of naturally developed abilities and I discovered them when I was very young but only one is surviving and a big thanks to crypto blogging for that. I used the word surviving because it is the only talent I still showcase to the world, it is not like I have lost all of them.
Talking of talents, I play drums, sing, draw, write stories, teach, play football, act in dramas, create, and others.
- I started playing drums myself but I was among professionals who didn't give me a chance then so I lost interest in it but I can still it play drums even after two years of not touching an instrument.
- I wrote stories and acted dramas in when I was young, I did it at school and in church even though I was shy.
- I sang a lot as a kid but I don't have a good voice so I was sidelined in the choir. I remember my pastor's wife insisting I sat in the backup group even while leading praise and worship during the children's week. Those things didn't make me happy and I am not confident about my singing ability. My shower stand is now my microphone and my bathroom wall tiles are my audience.
- I made a lot of money from drawing, my classmate would pay me to help them draw when we have an assignment. I don't do it often and I don't have too much interest in it.
- Injuries made me abandon football and I didn't have a choice but to let it go.
- I have always loved teaching and I would have taken the talent to a professional level but I lost interest due to how teachers are been treated in the country.
All these things are still part of me but I don't feel motivated to do some and some of them left me when I didn't utilize them.
The major talent I still have in a good shape is my writing ability. It is still very alive because of crypto blogging, platforms like Hive have allowed me to develop the talent.
I didn't pay much attention to writing when I started, it was something I did for fun but as I grew, I discovered it was a blessing that replaced my shyness. I was a very shy kid and it prevented me from pursuing a career like acting and doing things that involved crowds.
I expressed myself a lot and better with writing, people who were close to me understands that one thing about me.
I am a general writer but I am better at story writing. I started short story writing in primary school and I did it all through my school days because I was in the drama group from primary to secondary school.
I wrote dramas for church and now, I write for many people to read online. I am so comfortable with story writing and I can remember gifting a few friends stories on their birthday.
It is not a professional thing though but I have earned money many times with this talent. I have always hoped to write a movie someday but for now, I am just improving that talent by participating in contests, and learning from communities like the inkwell and many others.
I am yet to reach my best with my talent but I am glad I have got it because it has really helped and sustained me for quite some time now.
The ability to write will always create a wonderful writing career for you..
That’s true, talented writers have opportunities to achieve a lot of things if they improve that ability
I guess I fall in the same category as, I have been here for a very long while but havent crossed any major milestone, hoping all will change soon when am done acquiring @airhawk-exchange and bring my ideals too the world

I feel so bad that you have to neglect all those beautiful talents for one reason or the other. But it is also good that you let them go to concentrate on one, if we pursue many things at thesame time , we might end up catching none. But guy I love drawing oh🙈.

Omo... Only you??? You are really talented o. So many things and just you. But then, what matters is that you discovered them all on time and you were able to harness them and eventually focus on a few. You did well.
