Welcome to another episode of Hive Learners Creative Sunday Initiative. This post is an entry for the challenge and I hope you enjoy it as you learn one or two things from this article.
For today's Creative Sunday, I decided to make meatballs.
It's my first time preparing this myself and I have only tasted it once at a party some years ago. I didn't just decide to do this, I have been losing my appetite for regular food these days so I felt adding something new would boost my appetite and it did.
You need to see the bowl of rice I ate after adding the meatballs to my stew.
Preparing meatballs wasn't as stressful as I thought it would be and the result was awesome.
Let me take you through the process.
Ingredient
Making Meatballs doesn't require many ingredients, I made them with less than a dollar but the satisfaction I derived from it was more than a dollar
- Sausage I used sausage but you can use beef as long as blending it wouldn't give you much stress.
- Bread crumbs
- Groundnut oil
- Seasoning & Salt
- Egg
- Onion
The things I bought were Sausage and Egg
The process.
- I boiled the sausage first for some minutes.
- I intend using a blender to blend it but there was no electricity and with the rain pouring heavily, I wasn't expecting it. I used a small mortar and pestle to grind the sausage to the best I can.
- I turned the sausage into a small plastic after grinding.
- I added a small quantity of breadcrumbs, onions, half a cube of seasoning and a little salt.
- I mixed everything with my hand to ensure that everything blends in well.
- After mixing, I turned the whisked egg into the mixture and started mixing again with my hand. I made sure the combo was properly mixed before going to the next step.
- Heat the groundnut oil and make sure the heat is low to prevent burning the meatballs immediately after you cut them in the hot oil.
- When the oil was hot, I cut the sausage mixture bit by bit into the hot oil.
I moved the balls around in oil so that every part of the meatball will be properly fried.
Voila, this is the result of all the processes.
Is it worth the process? I can just boil or fry the meat and eat it.
Just boiling or frying will do and as I mentioned earlier, adding new ideas to my meal was all I needed to make myself eat properly again.
Bringing some fun and life into a meal isn't a waste of time as long as everything involved is healthy.
Meatball is loaded with nutrients and the heavy presence of protein says it all. Meat and eggs are great sources of protein, the bread crumbs grace the meatball with carbohydrates.
I enjoyed every bite and felt happy doing something new today.

Wow I'm loving it already...I will try this one for hubby o thanks dear for sharing. Nice choice!
He will definitely love and please if you want to use sausage, you need just tiny seasoning or no seasoning at all.
Okay thanks
I never heard of meatballs before and yes, you are right with losing appetite for the regular food as it happens to me too. Someone has to try new dish once in a while. This process isn't difficult and one could get those ingredients on time. This is great. Thanks for sharing.
The process is quite easy and it doesn't take time once you can blend your meat with a blender.
It makes sense and the fact that it boosts my appetite made me love it.
This looks yummy and seems easy to make. Thanks for sharing it with us.
It is very easy Jen, I am sure you will enjoy it when you prepare yours or you can check an eatery that has it on their menu list and try it out first.
Fun fact : I've never had meatballs before but I sure would love to taste one.
Wow, okay. I got to know about it before 2020 but not sure of the exact year. I went to a dinner party and we were served it.
At first, I thought it was puff puff but the first bite I took told me what it was.
