I Never Think Twice Before Spending My Money On These Things

in Hive Learners2 years ago

There are two kinds of people in this world: those who think it's never okay to spend money on themselves, and those who think it's always okay. I fall into the latter camp. It took me a long time to get here—and by "it," I mean having no hesitation about spending my hard-earned cash on things like travel, education, and health care. It wasn't until I realized how much these investments would pay off in terms of happiness down the road that I finally understood how foolish it was for me not to treat myself with respect and kindness in the first place.

Education

You may not think of education as an investment, but it is. It's the best one you can make to improve your future and prepare yourself for life's ups and downs. You will make more money if you're educated because employers/clients see that as an asset. You are never too old to learn something new—and you're never too young, either. The best investment you can make is in yourself and your future.

  • Learn a skill by taking classes online.

  • Read books on subjects that interest you, or buy a magazine subscription and have it delivered to your mailbox each month (if such things still exist).

  • Learn a new language to open up new possibilities of adventure and fun.

  • Take up painting classes at an art school near where you live, or join one of those adult education programs offered by local colleges and universities (these usually cost less than private lessons).

Health

Health is a priority for me. I don't think I'm an exception in that regard; it seems like everyone puts some kind of importance on their health. But the reason why I put so much value on my own health is because it's not just about the body. It's also about the mind and spirit.

I want to be healthy so that I can live a long life, but perhaps even more importantly, being healthy helps me feel good about who I am as a person every day—which is something we all want to be able to say about ourselves: "I feel good about who I am."

Being able to work out regularly helps me stay fit and strong—and makes me feel proud of myself when I see how strong my body has become through exercise over time! And eating healthy food keeps my mind clear and sharp; plus (as any mother would tell you), eating well helps keep your energy levels up so that you can take care of yourself and others around you better than ever before!

Travel

Traveling is another one of my favorite ways to spend money. I love the idea of experiencing different cultures, meeting new people and learning about their lives. This can be an expensive hobby, but it is worth it in the long run because you will always have these experiences to look back on when you are old and grey.

There are many reasons why travel should be at the top of your list when deciding what you want to spend your money on:

  • It can help you meet new people or even fall in love with someone who lives far away from where you live now.

  • It teaches us that there is more than just our own little world out there, which then leads us to how important it is for us all to respect each other regardless of race or religion, or cultural background.

Money can be a lot of pain when you don't have enough. I've had the worst time of it when it comes to finding work, paying bills, and just getting by in general. With that said, I'm also not one to let myself go without a fight. And so, if there's something I really want, I'll find the money somehow especially when it comes to the above-listed aspects of my life! It might take some time and planning, but it's worth it in the end because these things have made my life easier and more enjoyable than it would have been otherwise!

Conclusion

When you're considering whether or not to spend money on something, think about the long-term benefits of doing so. Whether it's a vacation, a new pair of shoes, or even just getting your hair cut for the first time in three months (which I recommend), don't forget that spending money can be an investment in yourself as well as others.

I believe number two and three are those who cost the most. Now you can learn a lot online for free if you are the motivation to learn naturally.

I always do that. In fact, you just echoed my mind. There can be nothing more important than investing in oneself. But, I think, we must be vigilant before we do that, because most of the time, the capitalist advertisers create fake illusions of "Need". I prefer function more than the trend. And I believe in Warren Buffet's famous quote, "If you start to buy the things you don't need, soon you'll have to sell the things you need".

Why do I work and not spend money on myself? My sister would always advise me that there is only one life and I should spend it to the fullest. Education, Health and travels are great investment one can spend on himself or herself because you will come to enjoy the benefit in the long run.

Ever since I travelled some weeks ago, though it's expensive but it was worth it because I got to learn other's culture and met people. I saw another world apart from where I live and I saw it as a good investment.

Spending on oneself is the best investment ever!! Spot on!! ✌️👍

I usually spend my money on food that I like, I also like to spend it on vacations, but unlike food, my vacation money is planned and budgeted. I am thinking of spending some for educational reasons, I want to learn a new language. I'm still analyzing if its worth it or studying on my own using online tutorials is enough.

I never have a hard time paying for items, services, education, etc. that I think I can have use of especially for business.

I would say that education and health are two things I wouldn't mind spending money on but I don't know if I can say the same for travel. I'd prefer to skip those breaks so I can grow my investments.

Some of the things you listed really don't cost money :) ... But yes, we should invest in ourselves sometimes.

Maybe we don't need those new shoes if the old ones still feel good, but we definitely need healthy food!
