The Price of Justice: Would You Become a Vigilante?

in Hive Learners10 days ago

Hello everyone, in a world where justice often feels delayed, denied, and uneven, a world where criminals work freely, and the rich go scot-free when they commit a crime, many people daydream about taking matters into their own hands. People like you and me, we are many out there. We’ve all watched heroes in movies and thought, “If I had the same money and IQ Batman or Iron Man has, maybe I could do that too.” But what happens when everything you think about becomes reality?

If you had the money, influence, and power, and the brain would become a vigilante? I have been asked this question many times, and the answer would always remain yes, even if I wasn't asked.

I remember a day, I was daydreaming. I thought to myself, there are so many bad people in power, like politics, the military, finance, and so on. If I actually have the money, I don't mind creating a small organization that goes after these bad people and makes them an example to others. I would do what the law won't do because a lot of them now have immunity to the law. I don't want a country like that, the truth is, the part I will be taking will be intoxication because that is what power does, but I don't mind becoming the sacrificial lamb if it means my country will be better again.

The thought of relying on some of the corrupt officials did cross my mind. Now, the fact is, I won't be relying on them, but I will be using them to get the information I need to bring others down before I come back to bring them down. People like this don't really have friends unless they see you do the same thing they do, and that's the only way they can accept you as one of theirs.

Becoming a vigilante sounds heroic in movies, but in the real world it demands sacrifice, secrecy, danger, and moral compromise. We all know this popular saying in spiderman

With great power comes great responsibility.

Am I ready to carry the responsibility of the power I crave? Yes, because it requires stepping outside the law to fix what the law refuses to fix. The fantasy is not thrilliing at all because my identity must be hidden. The truth is, I wouldn't want to do this alone, I would like my family to be a part of it, a family that fights crime, as a group bound by blood. It would be hard to go against our vision or betray each other, but the reality is darker, heavier, and far more complicated.

Still… in a world full of corruption, where justice is often reserved for the privileged, many of us can’t help but imagine being a vigilante who fights crime and helps people get the justice they deserve. Some people will do anything to give justice to people who deserve it, and maybe that says more about the world we live in than it does about us.

Thanks for reading, my name is Fashioluwa. I am back.

Indeed, these vigilante groups sacrifice a lot to keep their communities save, while the authorities sit in power and fill their pockets.
Vigilante should be legalized. They do more work than our so called authorities
