PURPOSE: THE REALITY OF HUMAN EXISTENCE

The reality of the term "Purpose" has led many to ask questions such as; why am i on earth? Is purpose real? What is life? and many other similar questions. The late Dr. Myles Munroe once said that "if the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse will be inevitable". I will like to start by saying that truly, purpose is real. Purpose is what defines existence and makes living worthwhile and fulfilling. Therefore, purpose is the reality of human existence as it is possible to live in the shadow of one's reality without the understanding of one's purpose. Infact, many people have believed that the word "purpose" is a coined word belonging to some sect of people based on their religious or other affiliations, however this is not true as purpose is real whether known or not yet known.

Many people have wrongfully thought that the whole essence of humanity is living a good life through making money, marrying and leaving the earth at an old age, though true but not entire as all these without the understanding of one's existence in relation to purpose will create a void which will still make the person unfulfilled despite all these "achievements." Going forward, i will like to state here that there is general purpose and specific. For example, the general purpose of the eyes is to see and that for the sun is to give light and heat. To understand the specific purpose of each individual human being, the master creator has put in some things in us as a guide to discover it.

It is good to note here that purpose is discovered or revealed by the master creator (God) just like as a potter used clay to fabricate the designs on the inside of him or her as wished. Part of what helps us to understand our specific purpose is the understanding of human differences and make ups. Each of us have something unique about us which is our strength and also, we have our weakness too, this can serve as a guide to understand specific purpose. Also, talents, natural abilities, giftings of each person are different which can also help in the understanding of unique/specific individual purpose or reason for existence in life.

In addition, the power of good conscience and right believe/understanding of life can help understand what individual purpose is. Most importantly, true purpose is not to live for oneself, but living a life which has positive impacts on others. The reason why many are confused about what their purpose is owes to the fact that they think purpose in isolation to only themselves and not in relation to what God has blessed them with to make life better and influence humanity positively. In reality, the discovery and understanding of purpose is progressive even as we as individuals pay close attention to self discovery and positive mind development.

Living any kind of life or just living life as it is is borne out of lack of understanding of purpose. Purpose isn't mysterical or spooky as some believed it to be, the highlighted points above can help. Personally, based on my progressive understanding of who i am and the reason for my existence, it helped me to make some choices and decisions which positively affects my living and impacts positively on others. I will counsel individual to ask God the master creator to reveal the reason for creating us so as to maximise this one life we all have. Purpose brings fulfilment and contentment putting an end to strive or unhealthy rivalry. Purpose is real and makes life worth living. Thank you for reading and comments/contributions are welcomed.
