Cynophobia

You may be wondering what the word CYNOPHOBIA means...

according to Wikipedia Cynophobia is classified as a specific phobia, under the subtype "animal phobias"

In general terms it is the “fear of pets” but it is mostly used by for dogs.

So yes, after many trials and experiments to even hold the even the cutest animal of them all, I have concluded that I have CYNOPHOBIA.

The funny thing is my family had a pet growing up, her name was CHERRY, we lost her in a hit and run years back but everyone loved cherry, I loved cherry but from afar...

Cherry was the reason I never wanted to come out of the house, if she isn’t in her dog house or chained to the balcony to play, I would stay indoors. I remember one day my dad told me to go change the water in a cherry bowl with a cherry in the dog house. I was about 12 years old or so I have never been so scared. My sisters ignored me, my mum told me to get over my fear and silly me went to my neighbor's door to knock and begged him to help me change the water. And since then my neighbor made it a duty to change her water daily...

If you see the way I brag about cherry in school like if I see her I can hold her 😂😂. I assumed maybe it was just dogs right, hopefully, there is one animal out there I can take in as a pet.

So I visited a zoo, I had my heart in my mouth the whole visit, I wanted to go home so bad, everything scared me even the tiny cute cat my friends were playing with and the parrot in his cage that everyone was singing with.

I am not happy about being CYNOPHOBIA, I want to be able to hold a dog and take pictures, or a cat or even a bird...I can’t even stand chickens or hold them in my hands it is that bad...

My husband loves pets so much especially dogs, the big ones, we always argue about the topic of owning a pet or not, especially since we had our baby, he has even said one day he would come home with a dog and our son’s reaction would determine if we keep it or not.

Thankfully he won’t be keeping to his words anytime soon, so for now, I WIN.

I wonder if there is a solution to this problem and if there is I would not mind owning a cute puppy that never grows, just like this amazing looking puppy in the image above that stole my heart immediately I saw the picture.

I see how @wolfofnostreet is with her dog when I read every post she makes of her, I always go AWWWWWW, cute puppies in pictures gat my heart but Only in pictures, hopefully, one day I can own one else I would stick to my pictures and awww expressions to other people's dogs.
