My Self introduction :Buzz Buzz people of the Hive! Please welcome a new bee!

in Hive Learners3 years ago (edited)

To be completely honest, I dislike having to introduce myself whenever I meet new people. I feel it takes away they fun in getting to know them, things as trivial as figuring out a person's name is fun to me (oh sorry... I am already talking about things I find fun before even writing my name), but hive is a large platform('large' is an understatement actually cos right now I feel like a needle in a vast sea!) and I read somewhere that that's what we're supposed to do as new bees(newbies).

My name is Layla Imran and I go by the Username drogomystic . Layla means "night" in Arabic and I am real embodiment of that name due to my strong love for the night and everything it comes with :The moon and the stars. I am what some of you would call a loner or an introvert but I can be very talkative too. I am a young, crazy 20 year old female Nigerian who is the third child of a family of six, including the mom and the dad. Over the years, I have had a lot of personality and identity changes and that's part of the reason why I don't really fancy introductions, because I feel like soon I'd deviate from the person I introduce myself as and become someone almost completely different😂. Let's make it snappy though before another me kicks in...

Well now what really do I have to say about that cute face?(ignore the background and just do what you're told!). It's beautiful and very much younger than its age and that's an added advantage I guess. I love wearing makeup and looking good in general. When I look good I feel good and that helps boost my confidence. I would not say I am immersed or obsessed with how I look but I always make sure I look presentable.

MY QUALIFICATIONS

The only qualifications that I have are my O level certificates. I am still an undergraduate so I can say I have no professional qualifications. I study medicine and surgery in Bayero University, Kano. Being a third year medical student whose university embarked on a one month warning strike isn't easy at all, you just come home and do close to nothing except spending hours studying (which isn't always good) so I made a decision to join a community where I can interact with a lot of brilliant minds, explore the world through the stories of others, learn from other people's experiences and actually engage one on one with them and I must say, Hive seems like the perfect description of that! Although I have been on read. cash for sometime, I only resumed full activity a couple weeks ago after the strike. I go by the username DocLayla on read cash

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

The thing I love most in this world is books and I mean real books. I started reading books as early as age four. The culture of reading was infused in me by my father who's a journalist. He would bring newspapers every night when he comes back from work and each time, my childhood curiosity would would always want to know what's in there and so I learnt to read. About the type of books I love to read that'd be all type of books as long as there is knowledge to be gained and I guess that explains my bio, "Seeker of Knowledge". I can't really tell the amount of books I have read and that's because I can't keep count but to give a rough estimate, they could easily sum up to a thousand or more! Not kidding.
It is said that wherever there's a love foe reading, there's also a love for writing. I love to right too although I lost most of my work due to a fire accident that happened in my house and all my writings were burnt. I used to write stories, poems and diaries of my own.
My love and enthusiasm for books plays a part in my somewhat reserved and introverted nature because I would rather rid books than interact with friends and even family. I have learnt to developed my social skills when I entered the university because I feared that I might lose touch of the real world. Interacting is also a hobby of mine now.

I also love playing volleyball. I was part of my high school's volleyball team and I bet If I had taken this game seriously in Uni, I definitely would have been part or the team😂.

LIKES AND DISLIKES
So here I am going to focus more about the dislike part because apart from the things I am going to mention, I like everything. My major dislike are dishonesty and rudeness. I consider these things as going against our nature as human beings. We arw naturally kind but when we go against our nature and become rude, it is the worse thing that can ever happen. Dishonesty is like calling natural processes a liar. Nature never lies. When you make someone believe other than what really happened, that's going against nature. From this, you can conclude that I hate anything that goes against our nature as humans: hate, jealousy, malice...

One more thing I dislike is having to repeat my self to someone over....and over.... and over.. AGAIN!! I prefer to write it on a paper than say it more than three times, except of course I am chanting a yogic mantra.

MY FAVOURITE FOOD
The food I love most is fried rice and chicken! I have seen people change favourites as they grow older, but it has always been fried rice and chicken for me since I was a kid(probably so before I was born because my mom told me that she got hungrier whenever eats fried rice and chicken when she was pregnant with me lol!). I enjoy it most when there's a lot of green beans and eggs to go with it and of course some neatly sliced carrots. Oh heaven!

**CLOSING THOUGHTS **
Well there it is fellow Hiveans. I hope to reveal more about myself during my interactions in this platform as well as getting to know more about other people as well. I hope you enjoy a bit of my craziness tonight.
Hive seems a lot more complicated than I expected. As a new bee (newbie) upon arrival on the Hive, I tried searching the combs(communities) to see if I could locate the Queen bee so I coipd bow down in greetings but it seemed to me that there's none. During my exploration I found this piece and I think it's really invaluable. I started reading it and I fine it very helpful as a new user. This piece was written by @livinguktaiwan and I am very grateful I came across something like that. I still have a lot of questions buzzing in my brain and I hope to ask them in future posts or comments. I believe with time I will get familiarised with everything.

If you manage to read up to this point, Thank you very much.

Much love.

Welcome to Hive, @drogomystic , the social network that keeps you just as engaged as you engage with others. Yes, there certainly is a learning curve, which is a continuous learning process, as there are always new things coming out. Ah, and when looking for the queen, try the mirror! We're all kings and queens here, as much as busy worker bees. Sure, some are fatter, many are older, but in essence all of us run the show together. So I look forward to anything you are going to post about!

Haha. Thank you very much @stortebeker. It seems all members of the caste are contributing all they can to keep this community going which is an, awesome thing. Thank for the words of encouragement ❤😊
