As the first son of the family, I have so many responsibilities and I have sacrificed a lot just to make sure my parents and siblings are happy. Not only my family even those around me because I am that kind of person that's gives even when I have little.

Providing for my family or loved ones is something I derive joy doing. I can remember during the time COVID was serious in my country and there was lockdown for schools and some office works. My mom being a teacher then didn't go to work because of the lockdown and my dad can't go to his office because of the lockdown also, I was living in school then and doing some online jobs that pays. The money I was getting from the online jobs is what I was planning to use and sustain myself in school because I can't ask my parents for money then because they are no longer working due to the lockdown. My school was also observing the lockdown then but I was living in the school hostel and doing my online jobs so I can save up some amount of money before the lockdown will be call off and everything will go back to normal. I was serious with the online jobs because I know I have to save up a lot of money to buy textbooks and other school materials when the lockdown is called off.

This faithful day my dad called me,he asked how I was doing and I told him everything is going smoothly with me and I also asked him how is home, that's when my dad started telling me everything. My dad complained bitterly that the little money with him has finished and that day there was no food at home that nobody in the house has eaten anything, hearing this I felt like crying that day.

After hearing everything my dad said, I was confused and I don't really know what to do. I can't just seat back without helping even though I know it will really affect me. I have two options, which is sending all my savings to my dad so he can use it to get food at home or I keep my money for school and allow my family to die of hunger. After giving it a big thought, I decided to send my dad eighty percent of my savings so he can get enough food for home because I know ones the lockdown is called off he will send me double of what I gave to him. I don't know but I was so happy because I was able to provide for my family during that lockdown although it costs me so money which I know I will need more time to recover through my online jobs.

Few weeks later the lockdown was cancelled and everything went back to normal. My parents started working again and dad really surprised me with lots of food stuffs and twice the money I sent to him.
