It all started when Emeka my senior brother gained Admission to study medicine at Nnamdi Azikiwe University....
My parents are not really buoyant enough, but that's not enough reason for my brother to make the decision of joining a bad gang while he has a skill...
It was two years since Emeka got to school and getting to see me at his lodge I was surprised at some changes I got to notice in him, his ears were Peered though he wasn't putting on any earnings but the holes were visible and his trousers were below his waist.. My parents trained us better I must confess, we're from a strong Christian home and all that are prohibited by my parents but Emeka has had it done. I couldn't stay because the rate of wayward guys that come visiting my brother are nothing to write home about.
It was four months later we got a phone call from someone saying that my brother was in police custody and his parents are need. My parents took a cab immediately to the police station that was addressed to them, when they got there my brother's face was something else that we could hardly recognize he. He has been beaten beyond recognition for a reason we're yet to find out.
My mum couldn't just stop crying after seeing my brother in that condition. After some minutes, we were able to meet with the D. P. O and he explained to us why he was arrested. According to the D. P. O, a robbery was carried out and the victim was shot before the police could go for the rescue and three robbers were shot by the police while one ran away and to those that were shot, two die instantly but one was alive and was on medication.... The injured guy was interrogated and he called out one which was supposed to be the only one to be arrested, but some how he pointed out that my brother was among the robbery and he was the leader of the gang.
My brother was arrested was interrogated with so much turture because he kept saying he's not a thief and he doesn't know anything about any robbery. My mother could not hold it anymore that she fainted right there in the police station and she was rushed to the hospital.....
Their case was brought to the court and a lawyer was assigned to handle my brother's case.. My brother must have turned bad, but not a thief this I know for sure... The court date was fixed and the day came
It happened that the victim was not dead just as we thought, he has been under medication without us knowing that he survived the fun shot.... And the Young man testified that they were four guys that came to rob him and the two dead guys with this two were the faces I saw, he said pointing at the injured guy and the other one. And the lawyer asked him if he could recall seeing this face as well, pointing at my brother and he said no that they were only four guys.
The case was adjourned and my mum couldn't stop praying for my brother, that God should vendicate him. The second court meeting came and the man was asked to repeat himself which he did. And the guy who pointed my brother was call in for questions and he went on saying that my brother was among them... My brother was called next and he explained to them the same thing he said to us. And so the last guy was moved into the court with a wheelchair and he was the last to testify of my brother's innocency.. And he was interrogated by my brother's lawyer and he was open to say that Emeka he not among their vang, and that Emeka has never got involved in any robbery operation before.. My mum couldn't hold it than to run to the guy with much tears in her eyes she huges him... And with that she was called in order as we wait for the judge to give his final verdict....
"By the power bestowed on me, I here by sentence Mr Vincent ihedioha and Mr God'swill to 15years imprisonment for robbery and attempted murder, and Mr Emeka okorie is found not guilty and should be release the court is ended". Court!!! shouted the court clerk and we all stood up and watch the judge leaves. My mum ran to my brother with a big hug as she kiss him all over his face out of joy and excitement...
My brother was released that same day and we got home rejoicing..
Wow! What an incident, i guess the the just hated your brother and wanted to implicate him but im grateful that your brother was proven innocent. Some people ends up going to jail for do nothing wrong, I guess your brother is one lucky dude and i hope this situation changes him alot.
great buddy, your work is amazing this time
It is a good thing that your brother was able to prove his innocence and not suffer for something he did not do. The real culprits got what they deserved.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
