I hope the money is not that much. I use to tell people something, do not borrow people what you know you can't let go of. Because there is 95% chance that they won't return it.

What I do is, if I know that I won't be happy to forget about it if you don't return it, I'll tell you that I don't have that amount at the moment, nevertheless I'll give the person a small amount of money to support whatever he or she finds to add.
