Looking back to the 11 months of 2025, I can wholeheartedly say that it has been an eventful year filled with countless rollercoaster experiences that makes it all worth remembering. Starting it all off with uncertainty wondering how I'll manage to navigate through its ups and downs and finally we are already in December, the last month to mark the end of all its overwhelming experiences.

With all happening in the world right now, one thing remains consistent for decades and that is this month is always tagged as a season of festivities. This is because there are always a lot of celebrations and events ranging from burials, weddings, end of year parties, and most importantly the celebration of the birth of Jesus otherwise Christmas starting off from the 25th all the way up till first week of January. Stacked with this level of celebrations, one is expected to partake in at least two events which usually takes a toll on individual finances. Some people are even tempted to go all out spending all their money this month with little to no restraint just to start all over again the next year all thanks to the perspectives of either surviving that long or enjoying what they have after a somewhat challenging year.

We are finally here again another December to celebrate with numerous expenses waiting to be cleared and so the question stands: How do we celebrate these festivities on a budget so we don't go broke after the 7th day of 2026. Two thing I have learnt about making budgets is that just because it works for one person doesn't mean it will work for the rest and making a budget is easy, sticking to it is the difficult part.

The temptations of spending it all in this season is extremely difficult but I believe with the right plan and determination, one can easily achieve the objectives of the budget. The economic state is obviously messy and during this period things get extremely expensive thanks to the high rise in demand. However it is still very possible to not overspend in a way that'll leave you stranded in the not so distant future.

Making a budget is the easy part, or is what comes after that determines if all the planning was successful. Instead of keeping that money idle in your savings account, engaging in a short time investment doesn't sound like a terrible idea. During periods like this a lot of people will want to sell of their investments with the intent of using the funds to sponsor this festive lifestyle. This is the period where the prices a lot of investments drops making it the perfect time to buy while you patiently wait for it to rise the next year. This method doesn't only prevent overspending, it also ensures that your money brings in returns while you do close to nothing other supervise their growth. There are also commercial banking apps like opay and piggy vest that allow one to strictly lock up money with a date for when it should be released.

Honestly I don't even have the kind of money I wish to exhaust this month and for that reason I intend to split both my earnings and servings into a ratio of 70 and 30 percent. The entire 30 will be used up completely while the 70 will serve as my foundation for 2026. I am still quite uncertain if this plan will work judging from the way the month is slowly crawling but I do intend to stick by it, it might not seem like much of a plan yet it is the only sound one I've got. Let's see what happens before the 24th then I'll know if my budget was successful or not.
THANK YOU.

Splitting your earnings and savings into ratios would be the best, but it won't be easy. It can be easy for someone without kids, a wife, and an extra task to cater to. like me, I just have to touch my earrings as well as my savings.

Well as it seems I don't have a wife or children of my own and even at that it still isn't easy for me..🤣🤣🤣
