Sometimes, I’m amazed at how some people seem to be allergic to drinking water. For no reason at all, they just don’t seem to enjoy drinking water. And I just can’t help but wonder why. It’s not like it affects them or anything, it’s not like they don’t drink it at all. They do drink it, just sparingly as if the water is going to run out if they take too much of it at once.
Who are these people I’m talking about? Those who for some reason, refuse to drink water after meals. Yeah, there are people like that. They don’t drink water during or after meals, and they’ll be comfortable. Not me, if I don’t drink water after eating, the taste of the food in my mouth would make me so uncomfortable. And I don’t like it at all.
But then, for those that do drink water, they take it only in the tiniest bits. Like, a friend of mine once boasted to me that she can survive only on a sachet of pure water for an entire day. Yeah, I was just as shocked. That won’t even be enough for me during meals, and then during the hot season as we are now, it will even be less enough. And the way the lady was saying it, she was going on and on about it as if it was a flex. Omo, choosing not to drink water is not a flex at all. As a matter of fact, it’s one of the most dangerous things that you can do to your body.
One of the first issues is dehydration. Our body basically runs on water and blood, but that water has to be fresh and clean all the time which means it goes out of the body as waste. A sufficient lack of water in the body can cause dehydration in the body which can lead to a whole number of complications. Many of which I’m not even ready to talk about just yet. That’s to show how mega-serious all this is.
A more serious complication arises from another need for water in the body which is for cleansing. Our body does a lot of cleansing every day due to all the rubbish we consume. A lot of these things can be toxic to our body which is why they need to be gotten rid of. They’re so bad that if they remain too long in our body system, they begin to affect us internally. This is why you don’t hold in urine or poo unnecessarily, once you get the urge, you get it out at once. There is no award for how long you can hold it in, but there will be a ward in the hospital for you if you keep such an act up.
And then, we have the kidney. The one organ in the body that is responsible for filtration. It would suffer greatly if there is not enough water in the body. The best time to start taking care of your body is now, start drinking more water. Now, note that it doesn’t mean you should drink too much water. Because like it or not, there is a thing like water poisoning. Yeah, you can drink too much water and it will land you in the hospital.
However, when drinking water, drink till you’re full and then stop. Stop managing water, you’re only hurting yourself. Drink water when you eat, drink when you wake up, and drink when you get back home from work under the hot sun. These things go a long way in making you healthy, but we don’t know that. So, my dear friends, we have to be more careful.
I used to be allergic to drinking water too until I find it hard to use the toilet.

Drinking water is good and many of us don't take it seriously and that result dehydration at the same time taking excessive water is not so good either. There are some people also who love to take cold drinks and it's totally unhealthy.
As in ehn... We should only take in moderation. Take what we need, simple. Because too much or too little is bad.
