Sometimes, I just can’t help but wonder about how these big corporations desperately want us to make artificial intelligence a part of our daily lives. Like, with what it can do, it’s no wonder it's basically where it is now. Almost all apps have an AI feature, vehicles and gadgets also come with built-in AI. They are supposed to make things easier for you, but I’ve come to find that they don’t really because the job you wanted them to do, you still have to work on it.
We keep talking about how AI will one day replace jobs and take over everything. That just won’t happen, because even when it gets more advanced, there will still be quirks that only humans can fix.

I think that one of the most annoying things about AI is the fact that it never really gets your instructions clearly. No matter how good you are at prompting, it will mess it up. This is even worse with AI images. You ask for a picture of seven men, you get 10 of them or only four. And depending on how good the platform is, they might have varied levels of deformities. Sometimes, you’d see some AI-generated images of people, and you’ll be traumatized.
Is this the platform that wants to replace real artists? I know that there are solid AIs that can give near-perfect imitations, but can you get it to do something from scratch? Have you tried creating an artwork with AI using only prompts? You’re gonna write and write, and write, putting in as many details as you can think of, so the specs will be what you want. But still, it will give you something else. You’ll have to make your choice from a couple of bad ones that you’d rather not have wanted at all.

With humans, it’s easier to communicate your needs. And also, humans can exceed your expectations, especially when they include their own creative side to the mix. But has AI ever exceeded expectations? There will always be a ‘but’. It gives you exactly what you want, but the person has three hands and seven fingers. They’re striking the right pose, but wearing the wrong dress. They’re wearing the right dress and striking the right pose, but it’s the wrong color. And when you get the color right, it’s now the wrong shade.
On and on it goes, you keep refreshing and tweaking the prompts, and more issues keep coming up. And it gets to a point where, when you’ve made too many changes, it starts getting worse. It starts changing things you never asked for. If your character was driving a sedan before (as per your prompt), it will get to a point where the character will suddenly be driving a Jeep or a bus. It can even change the entire environment, prompting you to open up a new chat.

Now, this is not a rant against AI. I can’t have anything against it, after all, I use it to tell my stories in my Content Creation. I’m just talking about how difficult it can be to make it work, that’s all. It’s hard to get what exactly you want, and if it goes on to become even more prominent in our lives, we’d no longer have a lot of choice but to accept the options that AI gives us. You want your AC on full blast, but your AI AC tells you no, that the weather needs it to be warmer. You want your food to be extra spicy and salty, but the AI cooker will tell you no. And they’ll do that while being really polite and nice to you.
So, what am I saying? If AI will really become the new “IT” for us, they should be trained to give exactly what we want. But that will require an intense and expensive type of technology to achieve. But I’m sure that with time, we’ll get it. Because eventually, the age of writing long notes just to get an AI image will come to an end.
Well, let’s see how it goes.
