You know, sometimes I’ve always wondered why people go out of their way to be evil. Now, I’m not talking about bad people committing petty crimes or people just being mean. I mean those who are simply evil for evil’s sake. They plan out their evil actions and embark on them in a way that when you hear all about it, you’ll feel a shiver run down your spine. That’s just how bad it can be.
There are really evil people in the world and when we think about it, they’re usually the most ordinary looking people. They are everywhere and since we can’t tell what goes on in the hearts of people just by looking at them, many of us will only know who they are when they display their evil tendencies.
One story that has been trending online is how a young lady was murdered by a close friend she had grown up with. It was so terrible because the families were close to each other and believed that there were some lines that would never be crossed among them both. Yet, their history didn’t matter at all because the guy went after her and took her life. Just like that. I can’t even begin to paint the picture of what he did to her, it was just too gruesome.
Even more sad, it turned out that she wasn’t his first victim. He had done the same thing to a lady four years previously, and he did it to his own sister as well two years ago. So, this is how one young man was able to snuff out the lives of three ladies. If this is not a serial killer, what then is he?
However, we as humans will always try to justify evil and try to give the perpetrators a reason for doing what they do. We’ll cite money ritual as a reason, or we put the love of money as a reason for people willing to go to extreme lengths just to get it. As if knowing that it was a ritual killing will make the death more acceptable.
But in truth, nothing about evil is logical. Nothing about it is reasonable and nothing about it should make sense. It’s senseless. This is not like fiction where the villain needs to have reasons for doing what they do, in real life, people are just evil because they want to be. They then use societal prejudices to excuse their acts.
So, I’m broke and I need to become a multi billionaire within the next seven days… so I’ll just kill some woman and cut out her vital organs. In what universe, does that make sense? How does the beginning of that sentence correlate with the ending of the sentence? No way! Whether we like it or not, we have people walking about who are serial killers, but we don’t know! They’re doing all this simply because they’re sick in the head and not because of any logical reason.
There is no logical reason for a man to rape a woman, no matter how provocatively she dressed. There’s no logical reason for a woman to stab her husband simply because she suspected him of cheating! There is no reason at all for a child to be willing to kill his own mother simply because he believes her head will fetch him a lot of money! There is no logical reason for any of these!
Yet, society keeps finding a way to explain it all! “He did this because of this…” “If she had done like this, she would not have been…” “If she didn’t dress this way, she would not have been…”
So, my dear friends, I know that we all have a role to play in society, but let’s stop normalizing evil because once we start making evildoers understandable and reasonable, once we start feeling like we ‘understand’ why they have to do the things they do, we’re only a stone throw from accepting them. Whether we like it or not. So, it’s best to call a spade a spade and make sure all these people are treated in the exact way that they deserve; as an abomination!
I’m really scared for our future, it’s terrifying to think that your next-door neighbor who is always smiling at you could be killer and you won’t know. Or the person you’ve known since childhood has three bodies under their belt. Makes me really scared to bring a child into this world. This is not just a job for the government. I really hope that society itself will work towards eradicating such people and encouraging therapy and psychiatry.
Because whether we accept it or not, many are indeed mad, but only a few are roaming.

According to Bob Marley, "If the night of some people were turned to day, many would run." I am scared of the stuff the heart of some people are made up of. It's utterly wicked.
Humans can be more cruel than animals and this incident is an example of it. I heard about the incident and to be honest It was hard to imagine how the person had done such a thing. I can't do it in my dream either.
