Why Festivals Felt Magical in Childhood but Different as We Grow Older

in Hive Learners3 days ago

Generally, whenever there was a festival, we used to be very happy in our childhood, but as we grow up, I don't know why the excitement reduces a bit because as we grow older, many more responsibilities come upon us and many other things also happen. If you are a woman, then you often have the responsibility of managing the house and worrying about taking care of other things. Men are often responsible for all the expenses and who knows what other responsibilities come upon them. Many people are both earning members, they prepare for all these things together, but the real excitement is felt by the children in their childhood because they do not need to worry about anything, they just have to enjoy and whatever they demand from their family, they also get it. Yes, not everyone is lucky enough to have so much, but those who have such facilities available to them are very lucky. See, often in childhood itself we are able to enjoy things very openly and we have a different kind of excitement to live everything and gradually we see many things, so gradually our work statement starts working, yes there are some people who live very carefree all the time and age does not matter to them, they keep enjoying things.

Well, there must be some such moments in all of our lives which we must have experienced with great joy. Often, whenever the month of December came, I used to be happy in my childhood that we would have holidays and we would go for a trip. This was the place where there was a lot of excitement. When I was little, we all lived in different places. I used to live with my father and the rest of my siblings used to live with my mother in the village. So, when the winter holidays came, we all went to the village. My father is a government employee, so he did not get that many days off, but he would drop us off at the village. The drivers who were known to us as locals, because of which we also used to go to the village ourselves sometimes. We used to have a lot of fun there. During the winter holidays, almost all the children of the family used to come to the village from here and there. We used to be very excited about all these things because we used to go out to play in the evenings and whatever festivals or whatever was there, we used to celebrate them with great pomp.

But things have changed a lot now because our village still doesn't have a proper road, which has caused a lot of people to migrate. We've also built a house in this small town, so we don't get to go home as often. To be honest, the excitement isn't the same anymore. When you come to the city, there are new people and different types of people. If you go to the village, there are different types of people who live together, and the city world is a little different. We do get to see each other during festivals, but it doesn't have the same village feel. Whenever I meet my cousins, they have a girly conversation with them because they know everything about us, as we've all been seeing each other since childhood, so it's a different kind of fun.

Well, there are so many moments in childhood which we celebrated with great joy. When we were in school, we all used to go to church during Christmas, which is in my city, there is probably only one church here, due to which there used to be a lot of crowd there and on that day we used to get cake and we all used to go there and had a lot of fun, but now there is no excitement of any kind regarding all these things, so now I don't even feel like doing it. Now most of my mind wants to spend time in peace and I keep doing the same things that are done by my own people and it is useless. I want to avoid those main things. I don't know, maybe it is possible that as we grow older, we become like this or not, this is happening with me, what do you think about it. There is a different fun in celebrating anything with your family and I will not say that I stay away from all these things at all, I also definitely participate in whatever small family party is there, but now he goes first, I do not feel the excitement.

It's understandable that what you're describing is happening... I just hope you can let go of all prejudice and be able to enjoy the little things you find in these moments with that distant family for the sake of harmony.

Childhood Christmas celebration is just the best compared to adulthood where responsibility has taken over. Thanks for sharing.

I think our thoughts and opinion changes with time and when now we have lots of things to handle. We are almost about to lose our souls and that's the reason we actually don't enjoy moments like we used to enjoy in the childhood times.
