Mixed Feelings About The Ending Holiday

The holiday is a well deserved one for me as a school teacher, after a whole term of hustling and bustling with the schools inter house sports competition and all, which made the term a very busy one. Amidst health challenges and family drama, I really needed that rest to help me recover and get back myself.

So far so good, I have tried to do all I can to make the holiday a restful one as well as a fun one, by attending to fun things and resting very well. So, I can say that I have had a restful holiday despite the fact that I attend to one or two official assignment along the line.

For me, my holiday ends on the 3rd of January 2025 as the school resumes on the 6th of January in the coming year. Though, I still attend to official matters during the holiday because the government would look for one thing or the other to occupy you with during a time that should be your holiday.

Just like they usually do, we were supposed to have general verification excecise yesterday on the 30th of December. This to me was not needed at all because all the documents required have already been uploaded but they insisted we all travel down to the headquarters from our various locations for the audit which we all did.

After about three and half hour journey, we got there but it wasn't our turn yet so we went to the shopping mall opposite to have some fun and eat before we start. When we got there, we had a little fun and it was as if that was what we came for. We eat, took pictures, ran and chase each other, do some window shopping and headed back for the program.

On getting back to the hall, we waited for hours but it didn't get to our turn because of the crowd there. This made me very unhappy until about six pm when we were about to go back home, our driver already left in anger because we had spent so much time. We ended up sorting ourselves out and boarding a public transport.

All these gives me another impression that the people we work for don't really love us and they don't care about our wellbeing. I got home around past ten pm and I just went straight to bed.

The holiday is already or almost over for me right now, because as much as I love to stay at home, I'm also tired of the stress my children give me during this holiday and the unending chores I have to do on a daily basis.
I've also missed doing my job, because there is this joy and excitement I get doing it. I have also missed my friends at work that we talk and share ideas together.

I'm ready for the year 2025, I hope God gives me a sound mind to enjoy it to the fullest, because I have fun plans for the coming year.
