MY NYSC ORIENTATION CAMP EXPERIENCE.

I want to share with us my experience in the NYSC orientation camp.

First, it started when I finished my online registration in Okoro cyber cafe in Enugu state, Nigeria.

We were all waiting for a call up later to know our state of deployment, that faithful Sunday preceding the Wednesday we are to leave for camp, our call up later came out, and it happen that am posted to Bayelsa to camp in boro camp,
In the call up later, it was written that we are to report to camp on or before Saturday else we will not be allowed entry to the camp which means automatic next batch.

Out of curiosity to serve my country, I left on Wednesday, for the camp.

By 8:30 pm that Wednesday, I reached the camp, and entered the gate, as I was walking down the road to nowhere, I only know am going straight down to meet people 😄😄😄😄😄.

Suddenly, I heard hay, where are you going?

Come here!

In me, I said. Am finished today, this person will either punish me or decamp me, little did I know he was just one of the man o, war members 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

On reaching him, he asked me.

Are you just coming?

I answered yes, breathing too hard.
He said ok, follow me, I gently followed Him imagining what we were going to do,

Lo, behold it was a point of first clearance, where my bag was searched, I presented my call up later, and they later proceeded to covid 19 stand for the covid test,

After the whole night clearance, we were assigned a hostel to sleep, in to continue our registration tomorrow, that night I hardly sleep, small time the soldiers will blow giggled. I checked my time it was 4 am.

I rushed to the bathroom to take my bath, and wore my normal clothes to the podium, for registration, which took me just a day to finish.

After that, I started seeing my fellows wearing white 👟, white stockings, white short nicker, a white shirt and a waist page bag.

I was contemplating if I will wear it, as an Igbo man, I devise my way, I started carrying my file to the podium every morning claiming to be new and still yet to be cleared🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪.

E shock you.

I did for one week, remember the camp is for three weeks, I have escaped one week already.

But what I don't like is people calling me white fowl or otondo, that name is just annoying.

But I tried using my tactics again the second week, little did I know that the state coordinator has been watching and observing me, one night he called out to me while I was going to mami market,

Hay, come here!

From today always wear ur uniform or I will decamp u, immediately I answer yes sir.

I knew my days of uniform had come.

I started wearing the uniform, but my major problem is that I don't like the shape is giving me, yes I don't like it.😌😌😌😌😌.

Those days I have been wearing ordinary clothes I couldn't go to the kitchen because they will ask u to go and wear your uniform, so I was eating, from mami.

I was just on my own in the camp, going to fellowship, praying and enjoying my money alone, till I met a Muslim girl called automotive from Osun state Nigeria,
She was like me, enjoying herself alone, we became friends by accident, but I later enjoyed it, just that what I don't like about her is that she is jealous,
She didn't want me to talk to other ladies not necessarily to woo them but she said, if I should be close to her I should not run around people.

Though m jovial but I hardly make friends, so I stick to her orders.

Fear ladies oooo, they can humble you.

OUR OPENING CEREMONY.

That Morning, I dressed up in my kaki uniform and marched out to the field, filled with joy to be called copper but not a prospective corp member again, after the parade and hearty cheers, we all went about snapping pictures, having fun and eating our money in mami market.

But then some have started owing in the market but thanks to God I never owe to personality.

MAN O'WAR DRILL.

I was in the parade in the morning, being among the tallest if not the tallest among all😏😏😏, I was called out to join man o'war Fir their drill, there we had fun, dancing and singing, climbing role, dragging robe, I can't forget one ladies that look like a man, though am stronger than her🤩🤩🤩🤩.

We became friends too but could not engage her much because of my already made jealous friend in the same platoon with me, I was in platoon 2.

MACHO PRACTICE.

One faithful morning after our general morning devotion, our platoon held a meeting to decide macho, miss camp, and miss bold, big and beautiful.

It happened that I was appointed to represent my platoon as the macho.

Already I knew, I am huge, but I don't have the body, I have a big tummy, no chest muscle 😩😩😩😩. No hand muscle or biceps

But u took courage and join the practice, as God may have it, I emerge the gim captain through an appointment by the coach, I wouldn't become through the election so don't think I have the feasible 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

As we were doing the practice, my friend homicide was always with me, to motivate me🤭🤭, u need to see how others are, their body was already formed, I was intimidated, but my girl kept motivating me, Even another corp member was laughing at me, down in me😒, I knew a just among the number, not contesting.

My girl was always buying me toast bread 🤪🤪, indomie and egg🙄🙄, to help me build the muscle.

A day before the contest, I told her, I will give up, she got angry and left me, shortly after she left, I received a message

Babe, if you quit, u will pay me for standing by u, if u don't want to contest, contest for me.

I was motivated, that morning I felt sick, I was taken to the hospital, for injection, she still followed me there, the contest was to start by 8 pm, she was with me in the hospital, till 6 pm.

She just looked at me and said.

So u are not contesting again!

I was emotional, I felt it, so I told one corp member doctor to discharge me, that am fine,
They did, so I left her back at the hostel, took my bath, and dressed up, I called her to meet me at the gym stand, quickly she rushed,

She asked me, can you do this, I answered her, am doing this for u.

She smile 😊 and said, u will win.

Not too long, other contestants came and we all assembled and platoon member was assigned to rub oil on our bodies, bodies none in my platoon came, so she did all.

When it was time for us to display, I did
mine just for fun but it later became the talk of the arena, other Others clapping but my platoon never clapped. So I encouraged myself, did my best and when we finished,

It happened that I won the contest.

You may be wondering how I managed to win, I won through answering questions, at least, I don't have the body but am intelligent.

When the results were called, my girl ran from outside, jump on me, she didn't even care oil was a body,

U can imagine the joy, I felt like crying but as a man I controlled myself,

Then, my platoon started clapping for me, I was given gift and their items,

The following day was our passing out parade, then I started enjoying the camp, I became a celebrity.

Every corner of the camp is just echoing my name, apex! Apex!.

After our passing out parade, we were given a PPA letter, I was sent to school to teach, and immediately I rushed to look for the girl to know where she was posted.

I met her sitting too moody, I asked her what she here.

She told me that she relocated to Oyo stays, stated now she can't leave me and go again and that she thought it was just for fun but it later turned out to be out of love, I look at her and tears rolled down my chick.

So I told her no problem, I will be fine, immediately, she replied to me.

What about me?

I told her, she will be fine too,
We went straight to Mami, we eat noodles, and we all went separately to our different location

Though we still talk I hear a lot.

My camp was fun because of her.

The enjoying part of life is having good friends surrounding your life.

I enjoyed the ending part of my camp because of the homicide.
It was nice meeting her.
